Provo update

 The semester just ended in Provo, the girls were busy during finals week, but did really well on their tests. This past weekend they were busy moving and getting settled into their new apartments, the twins seem really happy with their new place, Hailey isn’t sure about hers yet, but I’m sure it will end up working out just fine. They have also been busy applying for jobs, Hailey has one job coaching tennis, but is trying to get another one, she won’t be in school so will have plenty of time. Katie applied to a job on campus that she would love, but hasn’t heard back yet, if she doesn’t get it she will be working a few hours a week at the mtc with the special diets. The twins will also start school again on Tuesday. Kyle has been very busy with work, lots of big jobs and long days, but it is going well and he seems to enjoy it, he has also decided that he likes golf and goes golfing every week.

 Lydia turned 15 yesterday, we celebrated with her favorite pancakes for breakfast. Marc got up early and printed out her drivers permit so she drove to seminary., which she thought was super fun. We did cake and ice cream after her fajita dinner. And then tonight she had friends over for cake and ice cream and playing outdoor games. I thinks she had a fun birthday, she’s such a fun girl, we loved celebrating with her.

Easter

 We really enjoyed celebrating Easter this year. We listened to Easter music, did Easter crafts, went to a fun ward Easter activity, read a book together about Jesus Christ and the blessings of Easter, made resurrection rolls for breakfast Easter morning,went to a beautiful church service, did an Easter egg hunt for Marc and Lydia and ate a yummy Easter dinner. 

We loved our month long focus on our savior Jesus Christ.

Over in Provo the kids celebrated Easter together, they went to church and then had dinner together. Katie made a carrot cake that turned out really good.

Spring break

 We are just finishing our week of spring break, the first half of the week we just hung out here at home, Lydia still had track practice every day, and she was able to finish up a big school project. Thursday we left for a little vacation, we spent the day driving to Ashford Washington, it is a very small town just outside of mount rainier national park. We drove the long way and stopped and did some shopping, we got Lydia a few new things for her birthday. We got to our cabin that evening, it was a great cabin, it was all very nice and clean. We stayed until Sunday morning.

- spent Friday and northwest trek, we loved seeing all the animals, we especially enjoyed the mountain goats, bison and the bears

- we played a lot of games, they had this fun game board that we really enjoyed, some of our favorite games were Life, Yahtzee, Sorry a s Scrabble. 

- we spent time in the hot tub every night

- we roasted marshmallows and made s’mores twice

- we got caught up on some of our favorite tv shows 

- we spent a morning exploring mount rainier 

It was a great little getaway, we loved our time in Ashford

More track meets

 Lydia has ran in 2 more track meets the past couple of weeks. She has already cut 20 seconds off of her time, and is learning how to race. We have really enjoyed watching her.

Grandpa and Grandma

 My parents came for a night last week, we had a nice visit. They left the next morning for Provo and spent a few days there. They spent quite a bit of time with Kyle, Hailey, Katie and Nicole. They ate, shopped, swam, went rock climbing, played games, and had lots of good time to visit.
