Christmas

Our Christmas morning got started around 6:00. We opened everything in our stockings and then exchanged the sibling gifts. Everyone had fun shopping and picking out something special for each other. Then we stopped and ate breakfast. Then we went back and opened all the other gifts, we like to take it slow and try things on and play with our gifts as we open them, it was a fun morning.

We spent the day hanging out at home playing games, building Lego projects and enjoying more family time. Hailey called this afternoon, it was great talking to her, we have sure missed her especially the last few days. She had a good Christmas, she made cookies with some of the youth and delivered them to members of the ward, they did some caroling in the town, and she made cinnamon rolls for her zone this morning.

Christmas Eve

We picked Kyle up from the airport just after midnight on Christmas Eve, it was so good to see him. We slept for a few hours then got up and got ready for church. Church was really good, we were all glad for the opportunity to go to church on Christmas Eve, it was a really nice reminder of what Christmas is all about.

After church we ate and rested for a bit and then played games. Then we got dinner ready and had a really nice Christmas dinner.

We spent the evening going for another light drive, watching the Christ child video, and opening our new Christmas pajamas.

Then the girls snuggled upstairs and watched Home Alone  and Kyle stayed up and helped us get the final things ready for Christmas. It was a nice day full of family and Christmas fun

December Fun

We have had lots of fun this month getting ready for Christmas. We wanted to do some service during the month of December so we signed up to make 100 sandwiches for the homeless, and we did the 12 days of Christmas for a family, both of these service opportunities were a lot of fun, and helped us feel the Christmas spirit

Other fun things include watching Christmas movies, reading Christmas stories by the Christmas tree, baking Christmas goodies as a family and with friends, making gingerbread houses, Christmas puzzles, going for our light drive.

Hailey

Hailey is doing great. She is still in the same are, but has a new companion from Ecuador. She was able to go to the temple a couple of weeks ago, they went with their ward and had a couple if new members there.she is busy with Christmas activities, her ward Christmas party, helping plan the zone Christmas party, cookie making with the youth in her area, and caroling. We will talk to her again on Christmas.

Kimberly Murdock

Marc’s sister Kim passed away a couple of weeks ago. She has had multiple brain tumors over the past years, a few months ago she had surgery on another one, and unfortunately she struggled with a lot of complications after the surgery and never recovered. She will be greatly missed. The family had a nice little service at her graveside. It was nice to get together with all of Marc’s family, some of them we don’t see very often, but everyone was able to come for this.
