Kyles big day

Kyle had another big day today.  In sacrament meeting the bishop had him come up and presented him with a certificate for graduating from primary, the bishop also had him recite an article of faith, he did the first one.  He chose to bear his testimony in sacrament meeting today and did a really nice job. Then in primary he received his faith in God award, the primary president gives all the kids that get their award a big plate of cookies.  Then in priesthood, he received the Aaronic priesthood and was made a Deacon.  After church he was able to go with the deacons and collect fast offerings. We are so proud of him, he is making good choices and being a good example to those around him.

Kyle turned 12 yesterday. It is a little hard to believe that we have a kid that old, but we do.  We tried to make his day special for him.  He wanted cinnamon rolls and chocolate milk for breakfast.  The girls all made him cute cards and pictures, we had fun looking at, and Marc and I got him a new basketball hoop for his room, which he was pretty excited about.  Then he had to head off to school, which he wasn't very excited about.

 

He wanted pizza and root beer for dinner.  We gave him a book that he wanted.

Then we had football practice, after practice we had cake and ice cream.  The girls bought some candy bars and made him a candy bar poster and we gave him a pair of the socks that he likes.  The neighbor girls came over and brought a gift and stayed for cake. 

 

 

I think he had a fun day.  We sure do love him and are proud of him.

another week

We had another good week.  Heres what went on.  We finished painting the twins new room and got Hailey moved out and the twins moved in.  It turned out nice, and having the bigger closet will help out.  Now I just need to finish Haileys room.

 

 

 

 

Katie and Nicole had Miss. Washington come to their class. She had the same teacher they have when she was in 2nd grade.  They got to see her crown and she gave them each a signed picture, it was a highlight from their week.

Marc took the boys that he works with at church mountain biking, they had a good time, he is enjoying his new calling.

 

Hailey went to two birthday parties, and loved them both, at the first one they learned how to decorate cupcakes, and the second one was a BBQ and fun games. She has been losing teeth like crazy, I think she is missing three molars right now.

 

Marc and Kyle went to the High school football game Friday night and had a good time, and then Kyle had another game Saturday, they won again, I think the score was 55 to 0, he played quite a bit and had a good time.

 

It was a great week, we are loving the changing weather, it is really starting to feel like fall. 

update

It is hard to believe but September is halfway over.  It has been a very busy month, but also very good.  here is a little update of what has been going on around here. 
-Marc had to work Labor Day weekend, so the kids and I worked on getting some things done around the house, one thing we did was clean out the garden.  We pulled the carrots out, the kids love seeing all the funny shaped carrots.  We took out all the zucchini, there were some that were pretty old and I wasn't going to use them so the kids took them and carved them into boats, it kept them entertained all afternoon.

 

-Last weekend our ward had a campout, we were not able to spend the night, because we had football the next morning, but we went up for the evening, we had fun, we had never been to this church property before, so we had fun exploring.

The water is so muddy because the night before we had some huge storms, with a lot of heavy rain.

 

-Kyle has a had a football game the last two weekends, his team has won all their games so far, and they look better and better each week.

-last week we had some fun visitors, My Mom and Grandma drove over for the day, we had a nice visit, it was fun being able to show my Grandma our house and where we live. 

-I got to go to open houses at the kids schools this week, it is always fun to go and see their classrooms and talk to their teachers a little bit.  I don't know the twins teacher at all so it was fun to get to know her a little, she seems wonderful.  She took these pictures of the girls the first day.

She told me that she was looking at the pictures at home, and she showed their pictures to her husband and was telling him that she didn't know how she would ever be able to tell them apart, he looked at the pictures and told her that they didn't look that much alike, that you just had to look at their face shapes, so she got the girls the next day and looked at them for awhile and says she can tell them apart pretty well now.

 

 

Haileys teacher had Kyle so she is excited to have Hailey now.

When I went to Kyles I got to go to each of his classes for ten minutes and the teacher tells a little about the class, all of the teachers seem great, and it sounds like they have some fun and interesting things they will be doing, I think it will be a good year.  He has been having more homework than he has had in the past, he hasn't been to happy about that.

 

 

 

Lydias new room

We decided to do some room rearranging.  Lydia and Hailey have been sharing a room, which has worked out fine for the most part, but Hailey is getting to that age where she would really like her own space, and she likes to keep her space nice and neat, and Lydia doesn't care about nice and neat.  The twins have a little bonus room off of their bedroom that they have been using as a playroom, which has been so much fun, and they are sad to see it go, but we decided to make it Lydias room.  We painted it a pale pink and Marc put new shelves in the little closet, she loves it, she says it is beautiful.

 

We are planning on moving the twins to the room that Hailey and Lydia have been in because it is a little bigger and has two closets and then Hailey will be where the twins are.  We are working on putting a fresh coat of paint of paint on first and then moving them.
