Late Christmas Gift

 Way back in the fall, Marc and I decided that for our Christmas gift we would buy a new fireplace insert.  We were spending a lot of family time in the room that has a fireplace that doesnt work, and we were cold in there, so we decided it was time for something that actually worked.  We ordered what we wanted and they said it would be installed about a week before Christmas, which we thought was perfect, well due to COVID, the factory that makes the fireplace was way behind, so we were rescheduled for the middle of January, and then rescheduled for February 3, then it would have been a nice Birthday present, but then it was rescheduled for February 13, a nice Valentines gift, but it snowed that weekend, so we finally got it this past Saturday.  We love it, even without it on that room is way warmer because they blocked off the chimney so you dont get a cold draft.  When it is on, it is very warm and nice, we probably wont use it much at this point seeing that it is starting to feel like spring, but we will love it next winter.

Back to School

 The High school started back up this week.  Hailey, katie and Nicole started today, they will normally go every Tuesday and Friday, which is the same days as Lydia, so that will be nice that they are all on the same schedule.  Katie and Nicole have been super excited to go back, Hailey not as much, I think she likes her schedule here at home.  They got home and said that they had a great day. Hailey really liked the really small classes, most of her classes were only 6 to 8 kids.  The twins loved seeing all of their friends again, their classes are a little bigger 10-15 kids.  They liked seeing each other in the hall and at lunch, and it is really nice that Hailey can drive them

Valentines Day 2021

 We had a nice Valentines day. Everyone made nice notes and valentines for each other.  We made Valentine cookies during the week. And then on Sunday for our dinner we did a pasta and Salad bar, with homemade breadsticks, I think everyone liked it.  For dessert we had cheesecake, with either cherry or blueberry topping. 

We got to talk to Kyle which was fun, he seems to be doing well, he told us all about his adventures.  He was sick at the beginning of the week, so he had to get tested for COVID, luckily he didnt have it.  He has lots of stories about he and his companion, it sounds like he is learning a lot about patience.  He shaved his hair all off, he loves how easy it is to wash.  He really likes serving, they shovel a lot of snow and help out at school teaching math.  They are teaching several people, one of them is on date for baptism so he is pretty excited for that.

 Last weekend we enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and this weekend we had a snowy weekend.  It started snowing Thursday and snowed pretty much nonstop until Monday morning.  The girls really enjoyed it.  Saturday morning Marc took them to the sledding hill and they played for a couple of hours, a couple of their friends met them over there.  

They played around the house the rest of the weekend.  Monday they made tracks in the snow and then raced each other.  They also built a snowman and used icicles for arms and nose.

Fun in the February Sun

 We have had some beautiful weather the last couple of days, 60 and blue sunny skies.  The twins finished school at noon on Friday, so we went over to the park so they could rollerblade, they loved  it and did great.

Saturday morning we went for a little hike, the Yakima Skyline trail, it was pretty, and we actually all got hot it was so nice and warm.  We saw a herd of elk at the top of the ridge.  Then Saturday night we had to get in our weekly pickleball  so went to the church for awhile and played.

 I turned 43 this past week.  I had a nice day.  Marc took the day off, it was fun to hang out with him.  The girls and Marc made a yummy scrambled egg breakfast and gave me all kinds of cute cards and notes and bracelets.  We got some of our favorite teriyaki ,and sushi for Hailey, for dinner.  And then had some yummy Costco cake.  Marc thought it would be fun to do a spa night, so we all got some pampering, face masks and cucumbers for everyone, a foot and hand mask for me too, it was a fun night together.
