February Update

The first half of February has been busy.  Hailey, Katie and Nicole are still playing basketball, they all really enjoy it and we love watching them.  Lydia won another award at school this one was for good citizenship, her teacher emailed me to tell me that she would be getting an award and told me that Lydia is just a wonderful listener and that she just loves her.  Her and her best friend both got awards, they were so cute.

 

One more cute snowman picture by Lydia-I think the winter pictures may be done, the weather has really started to change it almost feels like spring.

Kyle had a winter camp out this weekend, they slept in tents, but had fun building snow caves.

Kyle and Hailey and Marc went on a youth temple trip this past week, they had prepared another 60 names to take with them, I am so proud of them and their great work with that.

We have been working on our play room upstairs.  We packed away most of the toys and painted it, we also painted the ping pong table, put in a new fan and bought some chairs.  It looks good, there are a couple of more things that we want to do, but we are really enjoying the room.

We had fun celebrating Valentines Day. We made lots of heart shaped sugar cookies, Marc took some to work but we ate a lot as well.  The kids celebrated on Thursday at school they had fun exchanging cards with everyone.  Our family tradition is to have a restaurant at home, I thought about not doing it this year because it was on Sunday and we had a busy day that day, but the kids were pretty upset when I suggested not doing it, so this year was The Murdock's Sub Shop.  We made yummy sandwiches with chips and lemonade, it worked out really well and was lots of fun. 

We had some fun visitors on Valentines day as well which made it extra special.  My Mom and Dad came for a quick visit.  They got here in time to order some sandwiches, we played lots of ping pong, and foursquare, my Mom and I made a couple of skirts for Hailey and we enjoyed a good visit.

This weekend

We had a busy weekend.  Hailey had her first Young Women's campout,  it was in a lodge but there was a lot of snow.  She had a great time, they stayed up until 2 in the morning playing games.  Marc picked her up early Saturday morning so she could make it back in time for her basketball game, she was glad that she had a few minutes to go sledding before he got there.  Then Saturday we started at Katie and Nicole's basketball game, they lost but both played really well, Katie made her first basket in a game, pretty exciting.  Then we went to Hailey's game, her team won, Hailey played really well, she came home and crashed on the couch for a couple of hours.  Later that night was the big Father Daughter Dance.  Hailey chose not to go again this year but Katie, Nicole, and Lydia went with Marc and they all had a great time, they got their pictures taken, ate ice cream, and did a lot of dancing and visiting with friends.  They looked beautiful in their new dresses, it was a really fun night.

I turned 38 this past Thursday.  The kids started my day off with lots of cute pictures and cards.  Unfortunately it was was very busy Thursday, so we had a quick breakfast together and then weren't all home again until after dinner just in time for cake.
