Lydia is doing great. We have had a snowy wet February. We missed school a couple of days and some late starts. She is trying to run more because track starts in a week and she is hoping to be able to participate. Often she goes to the gym with a friend after school. She went to YW winter camp, it sounds like it was fun. Friday night we went to the play Cinderella that the high school did this year, a lot of her friends were in it, it was fun to watch.
Kyle spent the last two weekends rock climbing in Saint George with friends, they love the warmer weather and being able to be outside.
Here is an update of what these two are up to
-they are pretty busy with school, lots of tests and papers lately
-they are getting better at swimming, they have even been practicing on Saturdays
-they still love their 10 mile runs early Saturday mornings
- Katie went to a basketball game with a friend, Nicole had to work that night
-today they had a pancake dinner party for their roommates and the girls that they minister to, they said it went really well
Here is an update and some of the things Hailey has been up to
-last weekend she went to Las Vegas with a big group of friends, they hiked, rode the 4 wheelers, did some shooting, went to church, had a bonfire.
-she has been playing a lot of pickleball. She had her first tournament Friday night, her and her partner got third place, she said it was a lot of fun
-she hiked the y with a friend
-unfortunately yesterday she woke up with a swollen face, she ended up having to have an emergency root canal done. She is on antibiotics and will go back to the dentist this week to finish it up, and make sure it is doing okay
We had fun celebrating Valentine’s Day. Lydia didn’t have school so she helped me decorate. For dinner this year we did steak, baked potatoes, and Brussels sprouts, the food was really good. After dinner we went for a walk, played valentine scategories, and watched a 90s rom-com while eating cake.
- here in Yakima we have started the month of February with snow, last week we missed some school because of it.
-the kids in Provo have sent some fun pictures and updates on what is going on there
-Katie and Nicole went out to lunch with friends from back home last weekend, they had fun catching up with everyone
After their long runs Saturday mornings, they have decided that drinking a wam cup of bone broth is the way to go
I turned 47 yesterday. It was a good day, Marc was able to come home a little early, we made a yummy dinner together and then sampled some different ice cream flavors for dessert. It was fun getting lots of birthday wishes from family and friends, it was a nice day.
This Saturday Lydia, Marc and I went up in the mountains to do a little snowshoeing, unfortunately the snow was kind crunchy and icy, we haven’t had fresh snow for awhile. We still had a good time exploring, it was very pretty and peaceful down by the river. We had hot cocoa when we got back to the car, it was a fun Saturday morning adventure
January is over. It was a pretty good month.
-Lydia stayed busy with school, she finished her first semester as a high schooler, finals week was busy but she did great on all of her tests. Second semester started and so far so good. Most days after school Lydia and a friend go to the gym together, she really enjoys that. On the weekends she is usually at a party with friends or at home working her way through the fast and the furious series with Marc.
One of Lydia’s YW activities in January was a pinewood derby, her and marc had fun making a car and she got 2nd place in the race.
-nicole, Katie, and Hailey all started winter semester at BYU, they are enjoying their classes, Nicole loves her religion class, Katie loves her microbiology class, and Hailey is taking calculus, I’m not sure she loves it, but she does like math. Hailey has stayed busy playing a lot of volleyball and pickle ball, she also dates a lot. Katie and Nicole look forward to their long runs on Saturday mornings, their goal is 9 miles before 9, they have had some snowy Saturday mornings this month.
-Kyle is busy working, his boss was gone for a week, so Kyle managed the business for him. He also bought a truck that he is fixing up to sale, he really enjoys working on it.
- my dad and his brothers spent last weekend in Provo, the kids had fun hanging out with them, they went out to eat, played pickle ball, hung out with the Thurmans in Payson, sounds like it was a fun weekend.
- Marc and I did a couple of small house projects in January. The weather was actually really nice most of the month, it was nice to still be able to get outside and walk all month long. In the evenings we played games, did a puzzle, started a new show, read books and tried to stay warm and busy during the long month of January
