18 month doctor visit

The girls had their 18 month doctors appointment today. Katie is a 1/2 inch taller and a pound heavier. We talked to the docter about them not talking yet she really isn't to concerned because they are twins if they still are not talking when they are 2 then she says she likes to send them to a speech therapist it gives them that little extra help but until them she said just keep talking to them a lot. They each got 2 shots they didnt cry to much so it was good.

Another day of Christmas

Today I was putting some stuff away in my room and cleaning it up a little bit when I found another Christmas present. When we went to my parents house at Thanksgiving we had brought home some presents form them and they had got set on my dresser and when the kids took them and put under the tree they forgot one. It was a little wood box that my Dad had made out of wood from all different places it is so pretty, and it was fun to read about all the different wood and tell the kids about it. And it was fun getting a present the day after Christmas. Thank you Dad it is really neat.

Christmas

Christmas was of course a lot of fun. Kyle woke up a little before 6:00 so we woke the girls up and went down to see what Santa brought. The kids were very excited. They started with their stockings Hailey got her lip gloss that she wanted and kyle some legos the twins were most excited about the oranges, I think it was Katie who went around and picked up everyones and tried to carry them around. Then we opened the wrapped presents Haileys big present was her dress up princess outfits Im pretty sure that she changed her outfit at least 5o times today. Kyle got a desk for his room it wasnt wrapped but there was a tag hanging from it that said Kyle on it he was so excited when we had him read the tag and it was his name and then when he looked in the drawers and there was all kinds of paper and pencils and crayons in them he was even more excited. Nicole and Katie both got a baby doll which they both carried around most of the day, now they wont have to fight over Haileys doll. We had such a fun day playing with new toys and visiting with family it was a wonderful Christmas.

Cristmas Eve

We had a nice Christmas Eve. We started out the day with a little last minute shopping. We got home from that and the kids decorated sugar cookies so that they had cookies to leave out for Santa, it was a lot of fun. then I sent the kids and Marc downstairs to watch a christmas movie so that I could get the dinner started. Dinner was really good, the kids decided that for dessert they wanted ice cream sundaes so that was fun they thought it was great because I let them pour on their own chocolate and caramel. Then we played games and read some Christmas stories. The kids were pretty tired so at about 7:00 they got into their pj's and put out their Christmas Stockings and went to bed. It was cute when I gave Katie and Nicole their Christmas Stockings they put them on their feet. We had a really nice day together as a family.

Kyles Program

Kyle had his Kindergarten Christmas program yesterday. It was so cute, they sang 10 songs. Kyle had a special part in one of them he got to be an elf and say his own line, and he got to be an elf in another one and pretend to trim a Christmas Tree. The funniest part was when they did jingle Bells the kids wore a jingle bell around their neck and were suposed to shake it during the song well shaking it wasnt enough for Kyle he was shaking his head around and the bell was swinging all over I just kept praying that it wouldnt hit anyone. We all had a good time watching him, and now he is home for two weeks.

Christmas activities

Sunday night we decorated our Gingerbread house, it was a lot of fun Kyle and Hailey are old enough that they really get into it, and the twins sat in their high chairs and watched and ate gingerbread. Today Kyle made a tree and decorated it at school so there is a picture of that, he also got an early christmas present this morning he has been wanting snow boots they were going to be from Santa but it snowed a lot last night so he got them a little early. he said they work great, he is trying them out right now while he shovels the driveway. I will have to put the pictures up later something is not working right

The fallen Christmas Tree

So last night Marc had some meetings, Kyle and Hailey were downstairs playing and the twins were playing really well upstairs so I thought I would try to get the dishes done. I had just started on the dishes when I heard a very loud unusual noise, I go in to see what it was and there is Katie standing next to the Christmas Tree which is laying on the floor there is glass shattered all around her and she is still holding onto the ornament that she was trying to get and it is still hanging on the tree. She just stood there and looked at me Im pretty sure she had no idea what had just happened. I took the girls downstairs and put in a movie so that I could get it cleaned up. I Go to stand the tree up and realize that the stand is broken. So of course Kyle and Hailey are very concerned that we wont have a christmas tree and that Santa wont come if there is not one. It was quite a night, and we get to go tonight and buy a new one. this is a picture of our tree until we get a new one.

Our Week

We have had a good week. Some of the highlights include Hailey informing us that she has changed her name she now goes by Princess Pretty, Kyle has organized a kindegarten football team they play at recess everyday, he took some of his old soccer socks to school aand cut them up and made wrist bands for all his teamates, apparently they like them so much some of the boys even sleep with them on. I guess I need to start checking his backpack before he leaves who knows what he will take next. But he is having a lot of fun with it, they even played the first graders one day and according to kyle his team won, the girls in his class are the cheerleaders which he thinks is pretty cool to. Saturday we took the kids christmas shopping they bought their presents for each other it was a fun day they were pretty excited to buy the gifts and wrap them and put them under the tree. And I got an early present from Marc he got me a treadmill I am very excited it will be really nice to be able to get on it when the kids are sleeping and get some exercise, we set it up Saturday it is really nice I cant wait until tomarow to start using it.

And I finally got all the kids to get together before church and they are even smiling.

Cinderella

Hailey saw this dress at Costco when we were there last month, she fell in love with it. She said she had to have it because she would look like Cinderella in it, so we had to get it for her and I got matching ones for Katie and Nicole(they refused to be in the picture-maybe next time). I told Hailey that it would be her Christmas dress so she would have to wait until Christmas time until she could wear it. She was very excited this morning when I told her it was finally time to wear the dress.

Putting up the tree

Last night Marc and I put the lights on the tree, and this morning we let the kids help put the ornaments up. It was fun Kyle and Hailey get really excited about finding their own ornaments and putting them on. Kyle wanted all of his in a row along the bottom I had to do a little rearanging, but it ended up looking pretty good.

Thanksgiving

I havent done a Thanksgiving blog yet, we had a really good time. We went to my parents house. We were not sure if we would go or not until Thanksgiving morning. The twins had been sick the whole week, so we were not sure if we should go or not, we got up thanksgiving morning and no one had thrown up that night so we decided to go. Kyle had quite a few adventures that day he went hiking, made a sword, and drove a car into a ditch, luckily everyone was safe and he had a lot of good stories to tell at school. The girls still werent feeling good so they wanted to be held the whole time and they wouldnt eat, but I think we only had one episode of throwing up. Friday the kids got to help cut down a christmas tree which they thought was great fun, and grandma let them help decorate. Marc and I were also able to get most of our christmas shopping done and the kids got to make peeps. we had a nice weekend we were all glad that we ended up going.

Snow!

This morning we woke up to about 5 inches of snow. The kids were very excited, they could not wait to get out and play. after Marc left I decided to attempt to get 4 little kids ready for the snow, it was a major job to get them all ready everyone seemed to be missing something, there were a lot of tears involved. But we finally made it out. The twins have never been in the snow they would take a step fall down and giggle it was pretty cute. Kyle and Hailey built the snowman by themselves they were pretty proud of it. Then we all came in and had Hot Cocoa, it turned out to be fun. It is still snowing Im sure I will get to do it all again soon.

Grandpa's and Grandma's visit

Friday night Grandpa and .Grandma came for a quick visit. the kids were very excited, we had a fun evening. My Dad made a shelf for the dining room so he and marc put that up. It looks really nice, now I just need to get some cute things to put on it. Grandpa sat and played with the kids, he and kyle played an intense game of checkers. grandma brought cute pillowcases for Kyle and Hailey, princesses for Hailey and Pirates for Kyle, they both said they slept really good on them, i dont think they slept good enough they were all up by 5:30 the next morning. It was a short visit but fun to see them.

Crazy night with Kyle and Hailey

Tonight Anna has a meeting, so Dad gets to watch the crazy kiddies.
Hailey wants to say: We took a crazy picture. My mom is the best cook ever. I got a new dress for christmas. It is blue and has a blue flower. The flower sparkles.
Kyle wants to say: Mom made the best cinnamon rolls today. Hailey and I are the naughtiest kids in the world. We had a fun saturday cleaning out the yard. (Marc: Kyle and I had so much fun that we cut down some flowers that anna said we should have left.)

Halloween

Halloween is a lot of fun with little kids. Kyle was so excited to wear his costume to school, he had a great day. they did Halloween activities the whole time, and ate tons of junk food. While he was at school the girls and I went to a Halloween party at their cousins house, it was a lot of fun they played a lot of fun little games and they got to be with their cousins. When we got home from all of that the twins layed down and had a nap I told the other kids that they could play quietly in Kyles room, it started to get really quiet so I went to check on them and they were sound asleep in Kyles bed I had to take a picture it was pretty cute. They had a hard time waiting until it got dark so we could go trick or treating. WE live in a great Trick or treating neighborhood we had planned on going to a few houses of people that we know but ended up going to a few more then that. Hailey kept begging for just one more. we got home and they had fun opening the door for the trick or treaters. they had a really fun night. Marc and I carried the babies and I didnt give them a bag to put candy in I didnt think that they would really know what was going on so i didnt think that they would care but they did. They would start to cry when the person at the door didnt give them anything, so they each ended up with a candy bar in each hand, which they would not let go of so it became quite the melted mess by the time we got home.

Missing Shoe

so this morning I had all the kids ready and we went to the bus stop, after Kyle got out of the van I looked back and katie didnt have a shoe on so I started looking for it I really thought she had it on when we got in the car. I even got out and looked underneath the van I couldnt find it. When we got home I had Hailey look for it, it was one of those mornings where I had a million things to do, but Hailey couldnt find it so I searched everywhere, even though I really didnt have time to. On the way to my visiting teaching apointment we even drove by the bus stop again to see if it was on the ground, we never did find it all morning. When we picked up kyle the first thing he said was guess what happened on the bus today. He went on to tell me that someone had lost their shoe and that it looked just like the babies shoe and that it looked way to small to fit on someone that went to school. Anyway we have no idea how it got on the bus, kyles pretty sure that katie somehow threw it on, but seeing that she was across the street in the van Im not sure thats what happened.

carving pumpkins

Tonigt we carved our pumpkins. Kyle and Hailey each got their own and they came up with their own faces that they wanted, they had a lot of fun. Then we went outside and put candles in them, they looked pretty good.

Pre Halloween

Friday night was our ward Halloween party, the kids were excited to get all dressed up, we had a good time they had a bunch of games for the kids. the one picture is of Kyle doing the arm wrestling game with his friends from primary.

Sunday was our Primary Program, the kids did really well. we had been working on their parts all week and the pretty much had them memorized and they new the songs really well. Kyle got a little silly sitting up on the stand with all of his friends, we were a little concerned that by the end of it he wouldnt be wearing anything. first we noticed that he lost his sweater then later we looked up and his tie was missing, luckily the meeting was about over by then so he kept everything else on. But they did a really good job it was fun watching them and Nicole and Katie got really excited whenever they saw them up there.

Inspiration

I have to teach the lesson on Sunday, so I was on the computer reading the talk by Pres. Eyring. Anna came down and thought that I could use a break so she, well you know. Well I'll tell you what she did, just in case you don't know. She typed in the blog addresses for Rachel's and Leah's blog. So I was inspired to do a little blogging myself. (is blogging really a verb?) Anna helped me by taking my picture and signing on. So this is my first blog ; -) . the smiley face is for Debie.

leaves

One of the kids favorite things about the fall is playing in the leaves. We realized that our trees dont have very many leaves so we decided to go to Grandma and Grandpa Murdocks house and play in the leaves there. So Saturday night after dinner we went over there for some fun in the leaves. It ended up that most of the cousins were there to, it was lots of fun. the kids had a great time. It was Nicole and Katies first time playing in the leaves we werent sure how they would like it but they got right in the middle of all the fun, and they thought it was so funny watching the big kids jump in the pile.
