Kyle turned 16 today, crazy that he is that old. Friday he took his driving test and passed, he is pretty excited about driving. Saturday we had fun throwing a little surprise party for him. There was a lot going in this weekend so there weren't a lot of people at the party, but I still think he had fun. We did breakfast and then played games at the church. We really surprised him, he had no idea.
Today we celebrated as a family after church. He wanted orange chicken for dinner and a German chocolate cake. His sisters made him lots of cute cards and presents. Kyle is a great kid we are proud of him and the choices he is making, and cant wait to see what this next year brings.

September Update
School is in full swing, the kids are busy with homework and sports. Kyle seems to like his classes, he loves his weight lifting class and had fun making brownies and no bake cookies in his cooking class. He is playing football, they have only had one game so far because of the smoke they have had to cancel some games. He played really well, he had some really great tackles, and is excited to play tomorrow.
Hailey loves her spanish class, the teacher is a really great. She is playing volleyball and found out on Monday that she made the top team, she is the setter. She has her first game tomorrow.
Katie seems to like all of her classes. She is also taking some tennis lessons.
Nicole told me that she loves her math class, she really likes the teacher she says he makes it fun. She is also doing some tennis lessons.
Lydia loves school, her teacher is a lot of fun. They do a lot of artwork and she especially loves that.
The smoke from all of the fires has been crazy this year, there was one week where the air was considered dangerous so we didn't go outside at all, it has gotten somewhat better, but still isn't great.
Kyle is almost 16 and hopefully will be getting his drivers license soon, he still needs to take his test, it will be really nice to let him drive himself to seminary and home from football, so we bought a car for him to use, it will be the kid car. It is a older jeep, it is in good condition but has a lot of miles on it so we got it for a good price, the 4 wheel drive will be nice in the snow, hopefully it will last for most of the kids to use while they are in high school.
We had fun going on a family bike ride yesterday, we found a great bike riding path, it made me realize that I need to go more often, my bike riding muscles aren't in very good shape.

Labor Day Hike
Some friends invited us to go on hike with them Monday morning. It is very smokey here, so we all wanted to try to get out of the smoke, it was better than Yakima, but still a little smokey. When we got out of the car there was a little lake and tons of little frogs all around it, it looked like the grass was moving all the kids had fun catching handfuls of them.
Then we made it to the lake. There were more frogs, bigger ones, the kids caught them and had a race with them. The older kids all walked around the lake and then swam across. The kids probably could have played all day, it was a great little hike, and always fun to go with friends.
The boys swam all the way across the lake

The hike was nice, the kids loved hiking together, they would stop if there was a fork in the road and wait for the adults, and they would jump and do tricks off the stumps.
