BYU football game

The BYU football team was playing in Seattle and I had an opportunity to get tickets, so I bought tickets for Marc and Kyle, it worked out perfect that it was the week of Kyles birthday, so it made a fun birthday present.  Two of Kyles friends ended up getting tickets so they rode over and back with them.  BYU lost really bad, but they said it was fun to be there, they said being there was so much better than watching on TV.  They got there a little early and watched them warm up, they had great seats in the end zone.

rock climbing

Katie and Nicole went rock climbing with their young women group, Marc was able to go along and help.  They really enjoyed it, they both made it to the top a couple of times.

17

Kyle turned 17 this week.  Monday was his birthday we had breakfast together, his favorite oatmeal chocolate chip pancakes.  His sisters gave him lots of nice notes and cards and little treats.  We didn't see him the rest of the day because he had a football game after school and didn't get home until late.  We had his birthday dinner Tuesday night, we picked up burgers and fries from Red Robin and made root beer floats, dinner was yummy and it was nice to have everyone home.  He and Marc are going to the BYU football game this Saturday in Seattle for his Birthday present.  They celebrated his birthday in seminary everyone wrote nice things about him on the board and the teacher gave him a cupcake and balloon.  I think he had a good couple of days, we love him and are proud of him and the choices he is making.

The Fair

Lydia really wanted to go to the fair this year, so we took the 3 youngest girls, Kyle was at a football game and Hailey had some projects she needed to finish for school.  Our favorite things were the animals-the girls love animals they would do well on a farm, we also love watching the racing pigs as we ate big ice cream cones, and as we were leaving we caught another really fun show with a group from Africa doing balancing tricks, the girls really liked it.  It was a fun night.

Homecoming

This past week was homecoming week at the high school.  They do a Junior boys cheer team that performs at the big assembly on Friday so Kyle went to practice every morning early and learned a cheerleading routine, they wear cheer skirts and tops too, it sounds like it was pretty entertaining.  Hailey and a friend recorded it for us, it was pretty funny.  He also had the big football game Friday night, we all went and watched, unfortunately Kyles team lost pretty bad.  Saturday night was the Homecoming dance, Kyle took a girl from school named Gracie, and they went with another couple Jack and Jewel.  They went out to eat and then went and got ice cream and then to the dance, it sounds like they had a good time, I was glad they stopped by the house quick so we could get a picture.

Cross Country

Katie and Nicole are doing cross country this year, they are on the school team.  They have been practicing for a couple of weeks now and had their first meet on Saturday.  They run a mile and a half at each of their meets.  This meet had schools competing from all over, it was a lot of fun to watch.  Nicole came in 7th place her time was 11:21 and Katie came in 14th place her time was 12:32.  They both did great and are excited for their next race this week.

Labor Day weekend

Our weekend ended up being filled with sporting events.  We started the weekend Friday night with a football game. Kyle played in his first varsity game, he got quite a bit of time on the field, he is on all the special teams. His team won, we all went to the game and and had a lot of fun.  Hailey hung out in the student section with all of her friends.  Katie and Nicole sat with us some of the time and then hung out with friends, Lydia sat with us, she loved the cheerleaders and did all the dances and cheers along with them.
Saturday Hailey had a volleyball jamboree, Marc and I went and watched, her team did really well, it was fun to watch.

Monday my parents came for a visit, Grandpa got a little volleyball in with the girls and then we drove over Kennewick and watched Kyle play in another football game, he is playing on varsity and JV. He got a lot of play time and played really well.

He is number 8

We had a nice visit with my parents, and a fun weekend cheering on the kids.
