An update

I cant believe it is the middle of October.  The weather has changed it does feel like October, much cooler, and even some rain.  Here is a little look at life right now.

Kyle is still playing football, there are 3 more weeks. He enjoys it.  School has gotten a lot harder since the beginning of the school year.  Many nights he stays up later than me doing homework.  He seems to like seminary, he says he is learning and thinking more about the scriptures.

Hailey will finish up volleyball this week.  She has really enjoyed playing, she is a good little setter.  It has been fun watching her, her team is really good.  She is doing well in school.  She was nominated for student of the week a couple of weeks ago by her science teacher, she wrote the nicest note about Hailey and what a good student and good person she is.  Hailey and all the young women in the Stake sang at stake conference today.  It was a beautiful song, she did a great job.

Katie is still liking Middle school.  They just finished the first 6 weeks so they switched electives.  She liked Drama and PE, she now has art which she loves and an advanced reading class where they are going to put together a newspaper.

Nicole is also doing great in school.  She just finished art class, which she loves, she also had Drama. Now she has PE and computer science class where they are learning to code.

A piece of artwork that Nicole did on her class

Lydia is loving first grade.  She has loved having her own spelling words, she has always watched me give spelling quizzes to the other kids and she finally gets a turn, she has worked really hard at learning them and has got 100% on all the tests so far.  She finally seems to like reading and is reading all the time.

We have been working on updating the upstairs bathrooms, it isn't much fun because we are all sharing our bathroom right now.  It should be finished the end of this week.

13

We have another teenager.  Hailey turned 13 on Friday.  We started our morning with presents and pumpkin pancakes.  She had a nice day at school with lots of birthday wishes and gifts from friends.  She wanted to have friends over to celebrate, so 11 girls came over after dinner on Friday.  They seemed to have a lot of fun, they played games, ate cake and ice cream, and had lots of girl talk.
