Summer vacation week 7

 It was so hot this week. We had to find things to do inside during the hottest part of the day, we did puzzles, watched movies, learned how to do embroidery, drew pictures and played games. We also have tons of zucchini in our garden so the girls made lots of zucchini bread to stick in the freezer. 

Lydia found this old blow up pool in the shed, she cleaned it up and filled it with water and the girls stayed cool in it 

Tuesday night for our youth activity we went on a hike, it was hot and hard, but the view at the top was great.

Marc took the day off Friday and we drove to Shelton. We stopped on the way at a bike park and let the girls try it, they all enjoyed trying something new.

We had fun visiting my parents and seeing Hailey, we loved hearing about all of her adventure, she had a great time in Virginia and hanging out and helping with the sawmill with my dad. 

Marc and grandpa and the girls went on a kayak outing Saturday morning,they had to leave really early when the tide was in, it sounds like they all really enjoyed it

We drove home Saturday evening. It was a fun week, only 3 left.

We talked to Kyle several times during the week, he is doing well, he is still working a lot. He has already learned a ton, and is enjoying the work. He’s also pretty happy with how long his facial hair is getting, he’s doing great and we are all very happy for him

Summer vacation week 6

 The first part of our week was just a regular summer week, babysitting, running, playing games. 

Wednesday night Rachel and her younger kids came for a visit, they stayed Thursday and Friday, the kids loved playing together, we did some swimming, and blueberry picking, the kids also played with water balloons, played board games, played on the trampoline and at the park, and rachel and I got in lots of good visiting, it was a great visit. 

Saturday morning we got up early to go to the temple, we said goodbye to the Fordham’s and then left. The temple was great, we were sad kyle and Hailey weren’t there with us.

We hung out in the tricities for awhile, the girls went for a run and then we went school shopping and got the girls some new jeans. 

Sunday we had fun making peach pies for Pioneer Day.

Hailey spent the week in Virginia playing lots of volleyball and hanging out with the Noriega’s, it sounds like she had a good week.

Kyle spent the weekend in Oakley, they have a big Pioneer Day celebration, he stayed with the winters family, he went to 2 rodeos, played in a basketball ball tournament, went to the pancake breakfast, and a dance, and got to visit with all of his good friends there, he had a really fun weekend.

Summer vacation week 5

 Hailey spent the week babysitting, she got home Friday, Marc and I had fun spending the evening with her, we had dinner at music in the park and played a game. Then Saturday we drove her to meet up with my dad so she could go to Virginia, so she will be gone the next couple of weeks again.

Katie and Nicole left for girls camp Tuesday morning, they are YCLs this year so they went up early to get things set up. Lydia went up Wednesday morning. I got to spend the day there on Thursday, it was fun to be a part of it. The girls all had a great time. The twins were in charge of the lake, and canoeing, so they spent most of their time out on the water. Lydia loved being up there with her friends. I got to be there for the skit night , they had fun with that. The twins came back early Friday night, and Lydia got home Saturday afternoon.

Tuesday night we just had Lydia home, it was nice giving her some extra attention, we took her out for ice cream cones.

Summer vacation week 4

 Monday was the 4th of July, unfortunately Marc had to work, but when he got home we had a barbecue and homemade ice cream, then we had fun playing games outside.

Hailey left Monday night to start a 2 week babysitting job, so she was gone all week, she did stop in Thursday afternoon to say goodbye to kyle and then we saw her Sunday at church with the kids she is watching.

Kyle worked a little this week, spent some time fishing with friends and saying goodbye to people, and getting packed up to leave 

He went and visited a favorite Sunday school teacher one night and she sent me this picture

The twins spent the week running and babysitting and enjoying some time at home 

Lydia had a fun birthday party Saturday night, she loved seeing friends again. 

Marc, kyle and my dad left Thursday evening for a long drive to Utah. They got to bountiful Friday morning and bought a car, kyle is keeping the truck with him. Then they drove to Logan and got kyle set up in his new apartment. They enjoyed the creamery while they were there, they tried the ice cream a couple of times, they also spent some time with Kyle’s boss, who seems really nice. Kyle and Marc went out to the reservoir Saturday and jump off rocks into the water. They had a good weekend, but a lot of driving. Kyle called Sunday he enjoyed church there and then did some fishing

We are sad to see kyle leave so soon, we had planned on him being here for the summer, but we are also happy for him and the new things he will learn and experience. 

My dad stayed here Sunday night we got in some good games of cornhole.

 Marc turned 44 on Tuesday, we didn’t do a whole lot of celebrating, he worked all day, and we had church activities at night, but we did make him his favorite tacos and had apple pie and homemade ice cream for dessert. 

Summer vacation week 3

 Monday we drove the twins over to Seattle for FSY, we got them all settled in their dorm room for the week and then drove back home

Hailey spent a lot of the week babysitting, most days she had two different jobs, and she didn’t have a day where she didn’t have a job, in her free time she did a lot of yard work, and hung out with Lydia. 

Lydia got to spend a lot of time on her own, she got the dolls out and played with them, she built a fort outside, played on the trampoline with the sprinkler and had a fun night out with friends

Kyle found out on Monday that he got the job he applied for in Logan and that they want him to start July 11, we are pretty sad about seeing him go so soon, but excited for him to start his next adventure. He spent the day Monday fishing with his friend jade, also his friend jack is back in town so he hung out with him a few times, and he worked a lot.

Saturday morning we got up bright and early and drove back to Seattle to pick up Katie and Nicole, we all went out to breakfast and got to hear all bout their week, they had some classes that they really liked, they enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends, they really liked their counselors, they were really tired most of the week, they aren’t used to staying up so late, but overall they had a good time 

After breakfast we drove to my parents house and spent the weekend there. My sister Rachel and brother Daniel and their families came Saturday afternoon to visit as well, it was fun to see everyone. There were a lot of pickle ball games played, and lots of fun visiting. It was a quick trip but we are glad we were able to have some time with everyone.
