summer vacation week # 6

I feel like summer is about over and that we are so busy, it is going to fly by.  Monday Leah and her family were here for the morning, it was fun hanging out more with them.  Tuesday Hailey got her braces on.  I could tell she was a little bit nervous and having her mouth held open forever while her teeth got good and dry wasn't much fun, but once she got them on everything was good, she has enjoyed showing everyone, and I don't think they have been to terribly sore.

Kyle started football on Monday, he has practice Mon. thru Thurs. from 6-8.  He seems to be enjoying it,  they work the kids pretty hard, but he seems to like that.  The girls and I went one of the nights and watched, it was fun watching and the girls brought their bikes, they have mastered them without the training wheels.
Thursday we went and picked blueberries we had a good time, we didn't pick as many as we usually do, I think the berries are smaller this year so it takes longer.  We had a good time though.

Saturday night Marc had to work so I was getting all the kids bathed and ready for bed.  Lydia was in the bath so I was cleaning up the bathroom while she was playing.  It got kind of quiet so I turned and looked in the bath and she had pooped, which is bad enough, but we had corn on the cob the night before and she was picking kernels out.  I got her out of their as quick as I could, of course the other kids thought it was pretty funny.

summer vacation week # 5

Week #5 was lots of fun.  I cant believe that summer vacation is half over.  We spent most of the week doing the usual stuff, going on walks, the library, playing outside, watching movies.  Hailey and I did have another mother daughter book club, we read another one of the American girl books.  We had a great time together.  Friday and Saturday were Grandpa Camp, unfortunately we couldn't make it until Saturday morning.  Saturday we met up with everyone at the park in Shelton.  The kids played for awhile and then we took some pictures.

After the park we went back to my parents house and had a yummy lunch and then most of the babies went for nap.  Grandpa made wooden boats with the bigger kids.  Daniel took Garret, Kyle and Hailey and let them use blow dart guns, and Katie and Nicole played with the bow and arrows.  The Boys all went and played pickle ball for awhile.
Lydia really enjoyed her juice box
Once the babies got up they played outside in the pool most of the afternoon.  The bigger kids worked on their fort.  Kyle and Hailey also got to try out the Kayak.  They did crafts with Grandma and we had a good dinner.  It was a great day.  The older kids slept out in the cabin with Grandpa, it sounds like they had a good time, lots of crazy stories, and not much sleep, but lots of fun.

We got up Sunday morning and got ready for church.  Rachel's family blessed Titus at church so we got some good pictures before it started.

My Mom gave each of us girls a special necklace, she had a necklace of her Grandmas that broke so she took the beads and had them made into a necklace for each of us.  They are beautiful and it is a special to think of my Great Grandma wearing the same necklace, we are all wearing them it this picture.

summer vacation week #4

This past week seemed like a really busy week, but nothing to exciting to write about. We did make it to the temple on Thursday, which was really nice.  After Marc finished his session we went and had  a picnic, we found another great park,it was lots of fun.
All the kids on the giant sturgeon
Kyle and Hailey had a great time on these climbing rocks
The park had a nice section just for little kids, Lydia loves that she can go up and down the slide all by herself.

Friday night when Marc got home from work we took the kids to a park here in town and worked with the girls, trying to teach them how to ride bikes without training wheel's.  Hailey did great, Nicole did really good considering it was her first time and Katie didn't really try it.  I am hoping to have training wheels off by the end of the summer.

summer vacation week #3

Monday was another fun day, Leah and her family and my Mom and Dad were still here.  Leah and I did a little shopping together it was lots of fun.  Then in the afternoon we celebrated Spencers birthday.  He had a  Lego party, we guessed how many Lego candies were in jars, designed Lego people, played pin the head on the Lego guy, built tall Lego towers and did a pinata.  The games and activities were lots of fun. After the party there was a water fight and then the kids played in the little pool for awhile.  We had a yummy barbecue, and then of course had cake and ice cream for the birthday boy.  We ended the night with the kids doing sparklers, this was the first time for my kids they thought it was lots of fun.

On Tuesday we celebrated Marc's 33rd birthday.  We were all pretty tired from the long weekend so we kept it simple.  We made a yummy dinner and then had cookies, of course Marc got his with candles.  Marc went and played pickle ball for awhile and then he and I watched a movie.

The rest of the week we stayed home and got stuff done around the house, we did make time for a trip to the library, water balloons on the trampoline and some art projects.  On Saturday we went cherry picking, it was fun, unfortunately I forgot the camera, but we have been enjoying the cherries the last couple of days.

summer vacation week #2

On Monday we decided to take the kids for a bike ride, their is a church down the road where they can ride around in the parking lot, the parking lot was fine, but getting 4 kids on bikes and one in a stroller there without getting hit by cars was another story, but we made it and had fun.  Katie and Nicole both got flat tires while we were there, so we had to drag their bikes back, it was definitely an adventure.
Kyle had scout camp the rest of the week.  Marc got to go with him on Tuesday, they had a great time.  Kyles favorite things were BB guns and archery and swimming.
On Thursday Hailey and I got to go to a mother daughter book club, we read the book Meet Felicity, and American girl.  We went and discussed the book and then made these cute hats, and visited and had a great time
On Wednesday we noticed that our dishwasher had been leaking for awhile, the floor in the kitchen underneath the linoleum was pretty wet.  We called and invited Leah and her family for the weekend to hang out and have fun, but also so that Joe could help replace the kitchen floor.  So Friday night their family arrived.  It was so fun to see them.  Tyler, Marc and Joe spent the day Saturday fixing the floor.  It was a lot of work, but they finished pretty quickly and it looks good.  We really appreciate all of their help.  While they were working the moms and kids spent the day outside playing on the slip and slide and having lots of fun in the sun.
Adele and Lydia seem to fight over everything, its kind of funny.

The boys thought the needed root beer because they were working so hard, Lydia liked it to, she carried the bottle around for quite awhile.

We ended the night with a yummy pizza dinner.
My kids and Leah's kids before church.

A funny picture of Lydia, she had put a whole toy in her mouth.

Lydia loved having all the babies around all weekend, she loves them.
