Summer vacation week 6

We were all home the beginning of the week which was really nice.  We made fresh peach pie to celebrate Pioneer day. Lydia had swimming lessons all week, which she loved.  Marc was able to finish the new front door, the kids did the usual, played outside, tried to stay cool  with water activities, finished up some crafts, watched movies and hung out.  Marc and Kyle spent the end of the week river rafting with all of the priests and Laurels from the stake, they had a great time.  While they were gone the weather turned really hot here, luckily we had a couple of neighbors that let us use their pools, so the girls and I did a lot of swimming.

Haileys friend had a Christmas in July party

The first day they rafted the Deschutes river Marc and Kyle were in the same raft, the second day they did the White Salmon river and they were in different rafts.

Summer Vacation Week 5

Kyle spent Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday on a Young Men High Adventure trip.  Marc got to go with them Monday which was the mountain biking day, they went to a park that had trails and jumps, Tuesday they went hiking, and Wednesday they played in the lake they were camped at, someone brought up jet skis. Kyle had a lot of fun.

Hailey had volleyball Monday-Thursday for most of the day.  She liked it okay, but it wasn't her favorite camp.
The other girls and I had fun hanging out at home, we did puzzles, played a lot of legos, swam in the little pool, and watched movies.  It was pretty hot the first part of the week, but the weather was perfect summer weather the end of the week.  Marc and I fit in a trip to the temple.  Saturday we did chores all morning and then swam in the neighbors pool, we had Marcs sisters family over for a barbecue Saturday night.

Summer Vacation week 4

Monday we spent the day grocery shopping and getting everything packed and ready for Hailey, Katie, and Nicole to head off to girls camp.  Tuesday morning I dropped them off, this was Katie and Nicoles first time going, they all seemed excited and a little nervous at the same time.  Friday night Marc and I got to go up for dinner and testimony meeting, it was fun to spend the evening with the girls, we loved hearing about all their adventures and feel the spirit that was there at girls camp.  Some of the highlights were the slip and slide, the rope swing, the climbing wall, katie went horse back riding, crafts, learning crazy camp songs, a skit where the twins were Siamese twins and they braided their hair together, this really cool picture of Christ where each girl painted a little square and then they put all the squares together it made a beautiful picture.  I think they all had a great week. All of the leaders had great things to say about the girls, they were the fastest up the climbing wall, the first ones up in the morning, and the bravest on the rope swing.

this is where Katie and Nicole slept, most of the girls, including Hailey slept in big tents.

Kyle and Lydia were the only ones home, the house felt pretty quiet.  Kyle spent a lot of time doing yard work, and hanging out with friends.  Lydia spent the week doing crafts, swimming in her little pool, playing games, picking blueberries with Mom and Dad, and watching movies.
