sledding

It snowed a couple of more inches last night, and Marc had the day off so we took the kids over to the park and went sledding. It was lots of fun. The girls stayed on the smaller hills but Kyle went down the really big hill. Here are a few pictures.

Christmas Day

Marc unfortunately had to work today at 8:00 so our plan was to get up at 5:45 and look at all the presents before he had to leave. The girls did great in fact we had to wake all of them up but Kyle was in our room at 4:30 we sent him back to bed but I heard his door opening every 10 minutes or so. The kids came down the stairs and their favorite part is going through their stockings so they started with that they get so excited about everything it is fun to just sit back and watch. Then after the stockings Hailey noticed a desk and was sure that it was hers because Kyle already has one and the stuff on top was girl stuff, she was very excited about that. Then the girls saw the Barbie house and the twins were ready to just play with that the rest of the time. Kyle got a surprise he had written a letter to Santa at school and had come home all excited because he had asked for something for Mom and Dad I asked him what it was and he said he wouldn't tell me but that we would find out on Christmas morning when we saw it under the tree. He did finally tell Marc what it was, we have been talking about redoing the family room and getting rid of a couch and so we said it would be fun to have some bean bags down there for the kids to sit on when we watch movies, so he had asked Santa for bean bags and he was so excited to see that Santa brought them. It was a great morning it is so fun to see their excitement. Marc had to go to work the rest of the day but it was still a nice day watching the kids play with everything.Nicole Hailey with her deskKatie and Hailey looking at the Barbie houseHailey with the Barbie houseKyle on the new bean bag

Christmas Eve

We had a very nice Christmas Eve. Marc was home all day which is always nice. I cooked a yummy dinner of Ham, potatoes, yams, jello salad, and rolls. Dinner was really nice. After dinner we all cleaned up and then attempted to act out the Nativity. The kids had a great time trying on the costumes, Hailey was Mary and Kyle was Joseph, Katie and Nicole were shepherds and Marc was the Angel, and I was the narrator. Once we started Katie decided that she no longer wanted to be a shepherd but she wanted to be Mary so she cried through most of it. It was fun though and it was nice to talk about the whole story with the kids. Somehow the kids talked us into letting them open one present that night so they opened the presents that they had bought each other. It was fun and I am actually glad that they opened them Christmas eve it gave them time to thank each other and really enjoy watching the others open the gifts that they had picked out without all the craziness of Christmas morning. Then we had pumpkin pie and put out our Christmas stockings for Santa.
