Easter weekend

My sister Rachel and her family spent Easter weekend with us again this year, it is becoming a tradition that we all look forward to.  They got her Friday afternoon, as soon as my kids got home from school we went over to the trampoline park.  I think everyone had a great time.

We got pizza for dinner and watched some March madness.  We decided to leave the kids home and go to a movie, which was lots of fun once we made it to the right theater.

Saturday we hung around the house all day.  The weather was perfect.  The kids had their fireball championship, we played all kinds of games, including some pretty intense ping pong games, and of course had our Easter egg hunt.

Sunday we had a yummy Easter brunch and spent a couple more hours playing before church and the Fordhams had to head home.  It was a great weekend, everyone got along really well and loved spending time together, we cant wait to do it again next year.

Poor Kyle got his braces on the bottom teeth yesterday, he is in a lot of pain.  It must really hurt because normally this kid eats all day long and now he says he doesn't even want to eat because it hurts so bad.

Katie and Nicoles music program

Tonight was the 4th grade music program.  This years program  was called "Lets hear it for the Heroes".  It was about sports heroes throughout history that worked hard and overcame their challenges.  It was really good.  The music was wonderful the kids knew the songs really well, all the kids that had parts did great. It was really fun to watch.  Their music teacher does such a wonderful job with the kids.

Spelling Bee

The elementary school that the girls go to decided to have a spelling bee this year. So each class had their own spelling bees to decide which kids would go to the big school spelling Bee. Katie was the top kid in her class so today she got to compete against all the top 4th graders. She won!! It was pretty exciting, she did great, it was really fun to watch.

They got these cute shirts and then she got a trophy and a gift bag full of prizes.

Hailey

Hailey had a choir concert this week.  She did a very nice job.  In one of the songs Hailey and a couple of other girls sang a special part, it was really nice. 

Hailey also tried out for a play last week.  The Middle school and Junior High are going to put on jack and the Beanstalk.  150 kids tried out, Hailey ended up getting the part of the chicken, she has a few lines and she gets to lay a golden egg.  She has enjoyed the few rehearsals that they have had and we cant wait to see it the beginning of May.

50 miles

Katie and Nicole made it to 50 miles and got their t-shirts at the assembly yesterday at school.

We went to BINGO night at the school last week.  Each class puts together a themed basket and then if you get a Bingo you get to pick a basket for your prize.  Nicole got a Bingo, she chose the water fun basket, it is full of water guns, water balloons, pool toys and all kinds of summer fun.

The three younger kids celebrated Dr. Suess Day at school last week, they did all kinds of fun activities.

Friday night we had the opportunity to see the BYU Folk Dancers perform, they came to the capital theater her in Yakima.  It was a really fun show, they did dances from all over the world, some of our favorites were the dances from India, Mexico, and Haiti.

Saturday Marc and Kyle spent the day at Youth Conference.  It was in Matawa, and involved 6 stakes, so lots of kids.  They went to classes, did service projects, had a testimony meeting and ended the night with a dance.  Kyle had a really good time.  It sounds like it was a great opportunity.
