Happy Birthday Lydia
My baby turned 4 today, my how time flies. We had a fun day celebrating with her. She wanted instant oatmeal for breakfast, and she got to see her pink cake, that she has been so excited about.
She spent the morning watching some of her favorite cartoons and painting. She wanted me to take some pictures of her, that was fun, she is sure cute. For dinner she wanted cheese tortillas and fruit, it was yummy. We invited a few friends and neighbors for cake and ice cream. It was lots of fun, she loved it all.
She had a great day. We love our Lydia she is such a sweet, fun little girl.

Easter
We had a nice Easter this year, though we did miss having Tyler and Rachels family here to enjoy it with us. The kids mentioned several times that they wished they were here. Church doesn't start until 11:30 so we had all morning together, we watched several Easter videos and talked about Easter, it was nice. I didn't get anyone any new Easter clothes this year, which everyone was also a little disappointed about. I think they all look very nice though.
Lydia loved her dress, it was Naomis last year, she has been so excited to wear it. She also got to go up in primary and everyone sang a birthday song to her, she thought that was kind of fun.
After church the kids in the neighborhood got together for an Easter Egg hunt. There was lots of fun and candy.
We had a nice dinner and then sat around and talked and colored eggs.
It was a nice day, and a nice opportunity to reflect on our Savior, the kids love all the fun things about Easter, but I think they also are beginning to understand what it is all about, and I love that they look forward to all of our fun family traditions.

soccer and a picture poem
I actually remembered to take my camera to the soccer game this Saturday. The girls are having fun with it, last week the referee came up to Marc and told him he should keep his girls playing soccer because the are very good for their age, so we will see what they do. I wish I would have had my camera last week, they asked a parent from each team at halftime to come and play this game. Marc volunteered, they had him go to the middle of the field and spin around 10 times and then try to kick the ball into the goal, the first parent to make it in won a prize for their team. Marc spun around and then immediately fell down, he got back up kicked the ball and then fell again, got back up and then made it, it was pretty funny. Here are some of the pictures I got.

March madness, awards and salmon
We had lots of fun this year with March Madness, all the kids got into it, even Lydia. None of us guessed very well. I ended up winning, but I still didn't do very well. After the first round Lydia was ahead, everyone thought that was pretty funny, she was pretty proud of herself. We had fun watching some of the games together and cheering for our teams.
We got a letter in the mail a couple of weeks ago saying that Kyle would be receiving an award at the Yakima youth awards ceremony. Unfortunately it ended up being on a night that Marc worked late, and it was the final basketball game, which Kyle really wanted to watch, so we skipped out on the ceremony, but Kyle brought the award home from school today.
The twins studied salmon at school, they got them as eggs and watched them grow, they loved the days when they got to be the Salmon scientist. Finally the fish got big enough to let them go, so last week we took the fish and let them go in the river, it was pretty fun watching them swim away. Their teacher took this picture of them.

spring break
This past week was our spring break. We ended up not taking a trip anywhere, Marc had to work most of the week, but we still had a fun week. It was nice not having to rush through our mornings and to be able to play and relax. Monday the kids played so nice together, they played everything, it was fun for me just to watch them, they we happy and nice to each other all day. Tuesday was April Fools day, marc thought it would be fun to make a special breakfast for them, he got up early and went to the store, and came home with all kinds of fun stuff. We had doughnuts that we cut open and put gummy worms in, Chocolate milk that we put chocolate graham cracker crumbs in so that it looked more like mu, and oranges that had been scooped out and the filled with bananas and more worms and graham cracker crumbs that looked like dirt. The kids thought it was great.
Wednesday for some reason nobody seemed to be able to get along, it was a long day, I was glad that the weather was so nice at least they were able to go outside.
Thursday Marc had the day off, so we drove to the Tri-cities and went to the temple and the spent the rest of the day over there. We started by eating a picnic lunch at one of our favorite parks.
Lydia thought climbing all over this giant fish was lots of fun
Hailey and Kyle had fun climbing this rock, and then Hailey had fun taking over the camera and being the photographer, the rest of the pictures are hers.
Marc got in on the climbing action
The twins ran around and tried everything, they had a great time, they thought this toy was funny because when they would get on it wouldn't move because they weigh the same amount.
Lydia really liked these swings she says this is what we need at our house.
We played for quite awhile, then we were going to try this trampoline place that we had heard was really fun, but it looked really crowded, so we decided on a movie. We saw the new muppet movie, I don't think it was anyones favorite, but we had some good laughs, so it was fun. When that got over we were ready for dinner, we hardly ever eat out so the kids always think that is great.
It was a really fun day, we were all ready for bed, Lydia hadn't had a nap, she was pretty funny on the way home, at first she had this extra energy, she was making us all laugh and then it hit, and she just kept saying "I cant do this, I want to go to bed" she did finally fall asleep in the car.
Friday Marc was also off, so we spent the day running errands and doing a lot of yard work, maybe not everyones favorite day but we sure got a lot done.
Saturday and Sunday we enjoyed spending the day toegether watching general conference, it was really nice, I think we all set some new goals and thought about some new things.
And now we are back to school for a few more weeks before summer.
