Summer Vacation week 6

Summer is over half way over, just 5 weeks left.  This week was good, but maybe not the most exciting.  Hailey had volleyball camp all week here with her school volleyball team, so she was gone during the days.

The twins are still babysitting for a couple of hours everyday, and they go on a run each morning, sometimes with their team, sometimes just by themselves. Nicole, Katie and Lydia worked on building their lego city, we did some art projects that turned out really good, we have been enjoying our garden-lots of zucchini, tomatoes and cucumbers, we played with waterballoons, went roller blading and biking, and finished a puzzle.  Katie gave a talk in church and Marc got a new calling as a Sunday School teacher with the youth.  Saturday morning marc and Hailey had some good games of pickle ball, Hailey beat him every time. We always enjoy Monday nights because Kyle calls, he is doing well, he is still in Oakley and continues to enjoy it there. Marc and I went on a fun date, a picnic in the park where a live band was playing.  Saturday night the kids had a fun stake youth activity playing outdoor games.  We have been enjoying the watching the olympics. It was a fun week here at home.

Summer Vacation Week 5

We had another fun, busy week.  Sunday Marcs good friend Jason was in town so he stopped in for a visit, it was fun to see him and do some catching up.  When he left Marc also had to leave, he drove to the base of mt. Adams, so that he and the other guys could hike it in the morning.

Marc really enjoyed the hike, It was beautiful and challenging.  He was really glad that he went.

Hailey spent the week in Virginia, so it was just the twins and Lydia home during the days.  The twins babysat for a couple of hours each day and also went for run everyday, but the rest of the time we were hanging out at home.  They made a solar oven and cooked several things in it.  We worked on a puzzle all week, they played with water balloons one afternoon, it was a nice relaxing summer week.

Friday after Marc finished work we took off for Portland.  We spent the weekend with Marcs Dad and Diana.  We havent seen them in quite awhile so it was great to see them.  We spent the day Saturday at the coast, we started at ecola point where there is a beautiful view, then went to a beach with some great tidepools, and then a beach with sea caves, and then spent the rest of the time at cannon beach where we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, played in the sand and water and flew some kites.  We had a really fun day and then ended it at their favorite ice cream store in Portland with some really yummy ice cream.

We left their house Sunday after breakfast and went to Leah and Joes house, and met up with Hailey, who had flown in late Saturday night.  It was great to see her again, we missed her.  We went to church there and stayed for dinner and some cousin time.

We loved hearing about Haileys trip.  it sounds like she had a great time.  She flew out to Virginia with my cousins daughter Jessica, they had never met before but they ended up getting along really well and are now great friends.  They spent most of the time there at volleyball camp, Hailey really enjoyed all the volleyball. Stephanie took the girls one night into DC where they rode scooters around and saw all of the sights.  They spent their first night there on a double date, there was a boy that Hailey had met last time named Luke and his friend that they went on a date with, they had pizza and played spike ball.  It must have been fun because they spent a lot of time the rest of the week with Luke and his family playing pickle ball and hanging out.

Utah Trip Day 7

This was our last day, so we spent the morning packing up. We dropped Hailey off at camp, she had a tournament today, she did great and got 2nd place in her division.

While she was at camp, the rest of us walked around campus, shopped at the bookstore, visited the art museum, and ate a picnic lunch on campus. while we were at the bookstore we ran into my cousin Diana, it was so fun to see her.

When Hailey finished we dropped her off at my cousin Amandas house because Hailey and Amandas daughter Jessica were flying out to Virginia the next day.  The rest of us drove home, it was a long drive but we did great, we drove all the way with out hardly stopping and got in a little after midnight.

It was a fun week, we really enjoyed Utah. The kids loved their camps, they learned a lot, and had fun.

Utah Trip Day 6

The girls had to be to campus early again, today was their last day so they had a race.  It sounds like they did good, but they never actually saw their times.  We dropped off Hailey later and then Lydia, Marc and I went out to my cousin Amandas house and saw her baby horse, she also let Lydia and Marc try riding a horse.  Lydia loved it, Amanda led her around a little at the beginning and then Lydia rode by herself for quite awhile.  It was fun to see her and her husband and some of their kids.  We went back and had lunch and relaxed for a bit and then went and got a treat-Crumbl cookies and Creamery milk.  We picked all the kids up at 4, they had all had a good day.  After a quick dinner we took the twins out school shopping and were able to find some things that they needed.
