Unfortunately it was Marcs year to work on Christmas, we have known for a long time, but just found out what his schedule would be a few weeks ago. He was scheduled to work from 6:00 AM until 2:30PM, so we decided that he had to leave to early to try to do it before he left, so we decided to wait until he got home to open presents. When I first told the kids they were pretty okay with the idea, but come Christmas morning they were not so happy.
They had to look at all these great presents but wait until 3 in the afternoon to open them
Santa did leave a package in the other room with a note saying they could open that when they got up, they were pretty excited about that. It was a giant marble track, that Santa thought would keep them busy putting it together and then they could play with it until it was time, well Santa didn't notice that on the box it said it would take 5-6 hours to put together. The kids were pretty into it for awhile, put it was so hard to get together, they all quit because it was to hard and to frustrating, so I sat with them and walked them through it and we finally got it all, and it was really fun to play with once it was together, but way to hard and stressful to get it to that point, plus only the older two kids were the only ones that could really help, so the other kids were really bored, we watched movies and did crafts, but it was a LONG day. I heard many times that it was the worst Christmas ever, but that all changed when Marc got home. It was really a lot of fun sitting around opening gifts and talking and laughing together, it was well worth the wait.

Here is the marble track, they love it, they have played with it a lot in last couple of days, if only it hadn't been that hard to set up.
Everyone got lots of fun books that they have been busy reading
Lydia was a lot of fun, every time she opened something, she would say "this is exactly what I wanted"
Kyle and Hailey both got some BYU gear to wear to school
the girls all got new clothes for their dolls, Nicole was especially excited because she had just been telling me that she wanted some shorts for her doll and she got some.
Lydia gave this art set to Katie, they were both pretty excited about it
Marc thought it was funny that everything he opened was for his hygiene, he was beginning to wonder if he had a problem
Nicole was pretty happy about this art set that she has had her eye on for awhile
They have had lots of fun playing legos these last couple of days
Hailey and Kyle loved their new hydration backpacks that they got
I didn't get a picture of Lydia with her doll, but she was super cute with it. Also all the kids got something new for their room, and Marc made most of it. Kyle got a shelve for his wall to put up all of his treasures, Hailey got a book shelve that Marc didn't make, she has had fun arranging everything on it. Marc made the twins each a shelf for their walls that will hold books and some of their treasures. He also made Lydia a little table to hold some books and a lamp to go next to her bed. Marc did a really nice job, and we had fun hanging they all that night, their rooms all look really nice.
It turned out to be a wonderful Christmas Day, and I am sure it will be one that we will remember forever.
