Sunday question

Kyle:  A 500 inch TV
Hailey: pay tithing, biggest TV in the whole world
Katie: pay tithing and I would give my Mom some money
Nicole: pay tithing and buy a church purse
Marc: pay off loans and buy a new home
Anna: buy a little larger home and save for college and missions, and lets be honest, I am sure that I would go on a little shopping spree.

pine wood derby and Blue and Gold Banquet

Friday night was the Pine wood Derby and they combined it with the Blue and Gold Banquet.  For the dinner they had each of the boys decorate a cake and they had a little contest.  Kyle had a lot of fun with Aunt Rachel decorating his cake, it turned out really nice.  Marc and Kyle had fun designing his car this year, he had fun racing it, it won some and lost some, but it was a good time.

Sunday question

Marc's Mom gave me some conversation cards for my last birthday and I haven't used them yet, I found them the other day and thought it would be fun to ask one of the questions each Sunday and put it on the blog.
Hailey:  eating Sundaes on the trampoline at my 7th birthday party
Katie: When Nicole and I were trying to blow out the candles
Nicole: When I turned 4 and chewed on a candle
Kyle:  when some of my friends put toothpaste mustaches on each other at a slumber party
Marc:  my 31st birthday when I got my truck
Anna: The funny email that Marc sent me for my 30th birthday

Valentines Day

Last Monday we had a lesson in Family Home Evening about Love and then this last week, the week before Valentines Day, we each took turns having the Valentine bag, and we left each other notes telling why we loved that person, before bed each night we would read the notes together.  It was lots of fun, everyone enjoyed being the special person for a day, and being reminded that they are loved and why.  On Valentines day we made a special fun dinner, we did Chinese food this year, we had yummy food, special party cups and sparkling cider and chop sticks.  We had a great time, it was way better then going to a restaurant.  The chop sticks were pretty fun, Kyle and Hailey did pretty good with them, the twins were fun to watch.  After dinner we decorated heart sugar cookies and ate those for dessert.  It was a fun week and a really fun day.

Agent Flat Dude

Kyle had to do a project for school where he had to send this little paper person somewhere and then get information about that place, and put together a poster and presentation.  He sent his to Stephanie and Hector in Virginia, they sent him back all kinds of great pictures and information.  He had fun putting it all together and today he will present it to his class.  It turned out really well.  Thank you Stephanie and Hector for taking the time to do it.

33

I had another birthday.  I am now 33.  The celebrations began on Thursday, Rachel is in a cake decorating class so she made a cake for me, so of course we enjoyed that Thursday, it was very cute and very tasty.  Friday Marc had the day off so we did some shopping and just enjoyed the day together, we had a yummy dinner with everyone and then we had cheesecake with blueberries.  Marc got me a new crock pot, I am very excited my other one wasn't big enough so when I made chili it always spilled everywhere and made a huge mess.  It was a nice birthday, it was fun to celebrate it together as a family.

Lydia update

Lydia is about 91/2 months now.  She is lots of fun, and very busy.  She isn't really walking yet, but is awfully close and sure wants to, she took 6 steps this morning.  She has two teeth.  She loves to wave "Hi" to everyone including the people sitting behind us at church.  She claps her hands.  She is smiley and happy most of the time.  She loves her brother and sisters.

The other day Nicole took one of the benches that go with the little table in the basement and turned it upside down and gave Lydia a ride.  Lydia thought it was great fun.

This is the picture that they took at the dance.  It turned out really cute.

New carpet

The carpet installers called and said that they were going to come on Monday to install the new carpet so we spent the weekend getting the basement ready. We had to take out the old carpet which was not an easy job, it had been glued down to some old tile so we had to scrape the old tile out to.  And then we had to put on the nail strips and the nails wouldn't go into the cement so we ended up gluing them in. We also wanted to paint the walls before the carpet was in.  So it was a very busy weekend, but we got it done, and they put the carpet in yesterday.  It looks really nice.  The kids have had so much fun playing on it.

Father Daughter Ball

The High School here puts on a big Father Daughter Ball every year.  This year Marc and the girls decided that they wanted to go.  I had bought the girls dresses at Costco last time we went for Easter, so I let them wear those.  They looked beautiful.  They had fun getting ready, and they had a great time at the dance.  They were so excited to tell me all about it when they got home.  They had ice cream and cupcakes, they got their pictures taken and they did a lot of dancing.  Marc said they are quite the dancers.  I am sure that this will be a tradition from now on.
