Snow and a Lydia update

We have got so much snow the past few days.  It started snowing last Wednesday, I kept the girls home from school because I didnt want to drive in it to pick them up.  They had tons of fun playing in it while the other kids were at school.  Lydia got to go out for the first time to, she really liked me pulling her around on the sled, but when she tried to walk around in it she didnt like it, she would fall over or her boots would come off, so she hasnt been out in it very much.  We had lots of fun watching the twins go up and down our little hill on their sleds.  When the other kids got home they all went out and played until after dark.  Thursday it looked pretty good in the morning so I sent the girls to school but not long after they left it started snowing a lot, so I had to drive in it to pick them up and the roads were awful.  I got stuck trying to come up our road, a neighbor was nice enough to help us get home.  It snowed all day, again the kids loved it and played in it as long as I would let them.  Friday there was no school because the roads were so bad, but it didnt really snow much Friday or Saturday.  Saturday morning Marc took the big kids sledding ( I stayed home and gave Lydia a nap)  They had a great time.  Sunday it snowed again all day, they ended up sending us home from church early because the roads were pretty bad.  There is tons of snow, and it sounds like there may be more coming tomarrow.

It has been awhile since I have written about Lydia, she has been growing up and changing a lot lately.  She talks a lot now, mostly one word phrases, but I cant think of many words that she doesnt know.  She loves to sing, she loves all the primary songs, and it is pretty funny when she sings along with Haileys Justin Beiber songs.  She really wants me to potty train her,  she sits on the potty all the time and every time she does she goes.  One of these days I am going to get brave and just go for it, because I know she is ready.  She usually has a skirt on over her pants or a purse or something, she has learned all this from watching her sisters.  The other day I caught her putting diaper rash cream all over her lips, I think she thought it was lip gloss like the older girls put on.  She is funny, she is always doing or saying something new that makes us laugh

New years Eve

We had a very fun New Years Eve.  We decided to take the kids to a movie, it is something that we never do, so we knew the kids would think that was pretty special.  We didnt tell them where we were going, they all tried to guess, but no one figured it out until we got there.  We saw The Chipmunk movie.  I sat by Nicole and Hailey, and they were laughing an awful lot so they must of liked it.  Marc got Lydia and she did pretty good until the last 20 minutes and then she was ready to go.  Marc was sure that she was going to start taking poporn from the lady next to him.  We did learn that on New Years you should get there with a more time then just 5 minutes, the lines were so long and we didnt get to sit together, but we all had a great time.  We stopped and got a pizza on the way home.  We ate dinner and then had out party.
Marc was telling the people that he works with that on New Years Eve we let our kids have their own can of pop, and that the kids thing that is the best thing ever.  So one of the ladies that he works with gave him a bottle of pop for everyone, it is a special kind that her husband gets in Canada.  The kids thought it was wonderful, they had so much fun having their own.

After pizza and pop, we went downstairs and danced and played games for awhile.  The kids had wanted to do a cake walk, so we did that.  I made little mini cupcakes, so when they won they got one of those.  They all liked the cake walk, Lydia even got into it.

Then we did some other dancing games.  One of us was the dance leader and the others had to follow what dance moves the leader did.

We also did an individual dance competion, there were some pretty good dance moves.

Of course throughout all the fun we took breaks and ate all kinds of yummy snacks.  After we put Lydia to bed we pulled out the sparkling cider and toasted in the New year, with the big kids.  It was a really fun day.  and we cant wait to see all of the great things thisNew Year brings for our family.

The kids each got a gift card for Christmas from my Mom and Dad, the twins decided to buy these Disney Princess rugs for their room.  I went in the night they bought them to tuck them in and all the girls were down on the rugs sleeping.
