Summer Vacation week 2

Monday morning we dropped Hailey and Kyle off at EFY in Tacoma, they were pretty excited, and probably a little nervous.  We didn't hear much from them during the week, but from the little bit that we heard, it sounded like they were having a great time.  We cant wait to pick them up tomorrow and hear all about it.

After we dropped them off the rest of us went to the Museum of Flight in Seattle, we had a good time walking around looking at all the planes, and we loved all the history.

A friend of mine was hosting a free volleyball camp, so Katie and Nicole went to that for a couple of hours each day this week.  The girls played tons of barbies,  swam in the little pool, played games, watched movies, and got to hang out with Mom and Dad.

I got this picture in the mail from Lydias teacher

Summer Vacation week 1

The first week of summer has come and gone, it was a good one, a little hard at times, with everyone getting used to being home together, but overall it was good with lots of memories and fun.  The four girls had tennis lessons for an hour each day, they all really like playing tennis and are getting better.  We spent on day at a reenactment of the civil war, it was interesting and different, I don't know that we would go again, but it was something different to do. All of the kids spent some time hanging out with friends, which was fun.  Of course we celebrated the twins birthday, which was great.  We enjoyed the beautiful weather by playing outside a lot, going for bike rides , putting the sprinkler under the trampoline, and going to the park.  We spent time on Saturday at the temple, the girls got to go for the first time, I stayed outside with Lydia.  They had a wonderful time doing baptisms, they did 50 of them that Hailey found all of the names for.  Kyle got his braces off, just in time for EFY, he was pretty happy about that.

12

Katie and Nicole turned 12 this week.  They had a party Tuesday night, they had about 20 kids show up at the park to play kickball and have cake and ice cream.  Unfortunately Katie started not feeling well before the party, she was going to just go and watch, but then right before it was time to go she threw up, so she had to miss her own party.  We took a big card and all of her friends signed it.  It sounds like the party went really well, everyone had fun.  Nicole thought it was great, but wished Katie could have been there.

Wednesday was their birthday, so we celebrated their special day.  They picked Ego Waffles for breakfast, they opened the gifts from us.  They got new bikes this year for their birthday, but we gave them to them early so they could start riding them.

They had tennis lessons, everyone at practice sang to them. They were pretty excited about lunch, they wanted peanut butter sandwiches, and they were happy because I surprised them with their favorite white bread, that I don't usually buy.   They watched the afternoon movie, and then played on the trampoline with big water balloons.  We had hot dogs, watermelon, and chips for dinner, then finished off the rest of the birthday cake.  They got to go to Young Women's for the first time, it was a combined activity where they went ice blocking, they had fun.  Katie seemed to be feeling good all day, we were so glad about that, but still sad that she missed her party.

I hope they had a good birthday, we sure love them and are proud of them, and excited for them and all the fun things ahead.

Fathers Day

We celebrated Marc today on Fathers Day.  He is the best Dad, our kids are pretty lucky.  He is very busy, but always takes time to spend with the kids, they all love his so much.  We had fun making some of his favorite foods, and giving him some special gifts.  The kids all wrote a special note to him, Katie and Nicole had fun typing up and illustrating one of the bedtime stories that he tells them, Lydia made him a crown and special card.

Another school year comes to an end

Yesterday was the last day of school!! I cant believe that another school year has come and gone.  It was a good year for all the kiddos, but they are very excited to be done and have a whole summer in front of them.

Kyle finished up his Sophomore year, he did well in all of his classes, finals weren't much fun, but he survived.  His history teacher chose him as history student of the month.
He was also the winner in his marketing class, I'm not sure exactly how it worked, but somehow if you didn't do a good job on different assignments you got "fired" and Kyle was the only one that didn't get fired.

Hailey finished up her 8th grade year.  she did very well in all of her classes, straight As.  I got to go on Monday and listen to her science presentation, her and her friend did a great job researching and had a fun presentation.
She got several awards on the last day of school.  One for her 4.0, one that was voted on by her Spanish class, and one that was voted on by all the 8th graders-most likely to be  a teacher at WVJH.

Katie and Nicole finished up 6th grade, and did very well this year, and had a really fun year.  They had fun on the last day switching places on their teachers, the teachers thought it was pretty funny.  They tie-dyed these shirts the last week of school, they say class of 2024, and on the back all of the kids have signed their names, they all wore them the last day.

Lydia finished up 2nd grade, she loved everything about it, especially her teacher.  I got to help out at field day again this year, it was fun hanging out with Lydia and her class.

It was a great school year, but we are all looking forward to a fun relaxing summer.
