Soccer season is over

Katie and Nicole had fun playing on the school soccer team this year, they had never really played soccer before so they learned a lot.  They won all but one game, they liked their team and coaches.  The last game was at home so I got to go watch, right before half time Nicole got a ball kicked at her face really hard, her nose started bleeding all over, her coaches were pretty worried about her.  They got her nose to stop bleeding but were worried about a possible concussion so she was out for the rest of the game.  We took good care of her and she seems fine, but it was pretty scary.  They had their dinner and awards this past week, Nicole got the most improved award, so she got a sweatshirt,and they had fun having dinner with their team.

Dances

In the last couple of weeks Kyle has went to 2 big dances. He was invited to go to the school prom by a girl named Anna.  And then Friday night was the church prom and he went with a girl named Hanna.  I think he had fun at both of them.

Tennis is over

Tennis season ended last week and the kids had their end of season dinner and award nights this past week. It was a good season, both Kyle and Hailey enjoyed it and improved so much.  Kyle started at top JV but ended up playing varsity most of the season, he played some singles and some doubles, and won most of his matches.  Hailey started the season somewhere in the middle of the JV team but by the end of the season was playing some varsity matches.  For the last match both Kyle and Hailey were playing 4th singles on varsity, and they both won easily.  the varsity team always takes a picture before each match, so it was fun that they both were in the picture.

Hailey had her dinner and they gave out awards, she got the most improved player award and her paper plate award was the most likely to go pro.

Mothers Day

I had a very nice Mothers Day.  Marc made a yummy breakfast of baked oatmeal, and the kids spoiled me with all kinds of cards and gifts.  Church was nice, Lydia sang with the primary kids in Sacrament meeting, and all the moms got cake and a chance to sit and visit.  After church we had a yummy dinner, we grilled salmon and asparagus, little potatoes and cheesy biscuits.  We went out to the cemetery and visited Marc's moms grave, we cleaned it up and left flowers, we love to sit and listen to Marc tell stories of his mom, she was a great mom and Grandma.  We came home and had strawberry shortcake for desert and played games.  I am thankful for my Mom she is a great example to me, and a wonderful grandma for my kids.  I am thankful to be a mom, it is challenging and rewarding at the same time, but I am so thankful for the things I have learned and for the great kids that I have been blessed with.

A race

There is a race here called the fitness for kids marathon, the kids run 25 miles on their own and they meet up and race the last 1.2 miles, it is for kindergarten through 5th grade, so Lydia was the only one competing this year, but the twins ran it is well.  The girls all did great.  Nicole came in 2nd, Katie came in 4th and Lydia who was the only one that really counted came in first for her age group, she was so excited.

Nicole has been complaining that she cant see the board at the front of her classrooms, so sometimes she has to run up to the front and copy things down and then run back to her seat. So we took her to the eye doctor and sure enough she cant see things clearly when they are far away, we ordered her a pair of glasses and they finally came in.  She looks really cute and was so surprised at how she could read signs far away and how clear everything looked.

50 Miles

Lydia made it to 50 miles for mileage club at the school, she got her shirt today, she was super excited.

Soccer

Katie and Nicole tried out for the school soccer team and made it.  They haven't ever really played soccer before, so they are learning a lot.  They seem to enjoy it, I have been able to watch the second half of the last 2 games, and Marc was able to watch one last week, it has been fun watching them. 

I think most of the pictures are of Nicole, she plays on the side and Katie plays more in the middle, so it is a lot easier to get pictures of Nicole
