Today was crazy hair day at the elementary school. Hailey did her own. I braided Katies in a whole bunch of braids and Nicole has pony tails all over her head, they thought it was great fun.

first house project
We finished our first project on our new house today. The family room off of the kitchen and dining room had really bad carpet in it, so we wanted to replace that right away. Before they came to put the carpet in we wanted to paint it, it was a light pink color with white splotches on it.
This is before we painted, after the carpet was out
This is after we painted in last night
Here it is with the new carpet
It looks really good, I cant wait to get things on the walls and shelves.

Update
So this past summer we decided to put our house up for sale, it was a hard decision, we loved our house, we loved our neighborhood and neighbors, the kids school, our ward, we loved it all, but we were feeling a little crowded and knew that at some point we would need to move and get a little bigger house that would meet our needs better. After we put it up for sale a house came on the market that seemed to have the things that we wanted so we put in an offer, it was contingent on the sale of our home, we had to have ours sold by the end of October and have it closed by the end of November. All summer we kept the house clean, the kids were great helpers, we had quite a few showings but no real interest. Our thoughts were that we had done all we could do and if it didn't sell we loved our current house and we figured that it just wasn't meant to be. Finally in the middle of October we got an offer on our house, we took the offer and continued on in the process of buying the new home. The last month has been full of paperwork and meetings with Realtors, it has been stressful and tiring, there were lots of times where we didn't know if it was still all going to happen or how it was all going to work out, but it did. So on Wednesday the 21st of November we finally were able to close the sale of our house and purchase our new house. Of course that meant that all day Wednesday we were moving and all day Thanksgiving we were unpacking, so we really didn't have a Traditional Thanksgiving, it didn't help that Marc was working the evening shift at the hospital either. Wednesday night our realtor brought over dinner to the new house, it was really nice of her, she also brought a pumpkin pie, we didn't have time to eat it that night so we thought for Thanksgiving we would have it for breakfast, the kids will all tell you how awful it was, they were missing homemade pumpkin pies. I ended up just getting a frozen lasagna so I could just stick it in the oven while I worked on unpacking and then I got a plate that had all different kinds of cheesecakes for dessert, the kids thought that was lots of fun. Even without the nice dinner we all still felt so much gratitude and had a nice time talking about our blessings and how Thankful we are. We are still far from settled in our new home, but it is coming along. We have met some of our new neighbors and they all seem great. We have went to our new ward twice now and have felt very welcomed. We feel really good about how it is all turning out.

This past week
This past week the kids had half days at school because of parent teacher conferences. They got home in time to have lunch. I let them make their own lunches everyday, they thought it was great, Kyle claims that he makes the best toasted peanut butter and honey sandwich. They played together really well most of the time, and I loved watching them. Luckily the weather was really nice most of the week so they played every game they could think of outside. I also got to go to conferences for the girls. Kyles was optional this year, only if you had a concern, so we didn't do one for him. I met with the twins teacher, she is great, I actually help in their room once a week, so I know her pretty well. She loves the twins and is having fun getting to know them better this year because she has them all day. They are doing really well with all their school work and she says they are friendly and kind to everyone. I met with Haileys teacher, whom I don't know very well, but really like, she has been great with Hailey she says her biggest challenge is keeping Hailey challenged. She says Hailey is a great helper and she just really enjoys her.
A lady at church made Hailey this pretty flower for her hair a couple of weeks ago, and then felt bad that she hadn't made anything for the other kids so she made two more flowers for the twins and a bow tie for Kyle. I wanted the kids to wear them to church Sunday so she could see them, of course the girls were excited to wear the flowers, but Kyle wasn't thrilled about the bow tie, but he wore it, and she came up to me afterward and told me she was so glad to see the kids wearing them, it meant a lot to her. I was really proud of Kyle for wearing it even though he really didn't want to, I know it made her day, and he looked pretty cute.
of course Lydia wanted a picture

Baby blessing
Leah and Joe blessed their baby this past Sunday, we had decided not to go, because Kyle had football and we wouldn't really have a lot of time, but then Sunday morning the kids were up really early, and so we decided to go. The drive there was beautiful. We got to their church building early and had fun watching everyone walk in a realize we were there and get all excited. The blessing was really nice, we were glad that we got to be there for it.
We loved meeting this new little guy, he is as cute as can be.
We loved seeing Leahs new house, it is really nice. The kids had a great time playing together, it was lots of fun watching them, they got along really well.
We also got to meet the new addition to Daniel and Heathers family, their new puppy Ranger. Lydia and Hailey just loved him.
We are so glad that we went, it was a lot of driving but it went really well, the kids did great, and we had so much fun seeing everyone.

Football is over
Kyles team played in the first rounds of the playoffs today, unfortunately they lost so football is over for the season. They were playing the top team from the lower valley league, and they were the top team for a reason, they were very good. Kyles team played well, Kyle had some great plays. He has had a great season, it has been fun to watch, and he is already talking about next year.
