21

Kyle turned 21 on Saturday! He spent the weekend with his friend Tyler and and a group of his friends at lake Powell.  It sounds like they had a lot of fun being out on the water all day boating and fishing.

Kyle is doing well living in Logan. He likes his job, he works a lot. He also goes to school 2 nights a week. He is trying to work on making some more friends there, it is hard because he works so much.

We love Kyle, we always look forward to talking to him and hearing about what’s going on in his life. He is a hard worker and a lot of fun to be around, we look forward to seeing what year 21 brings for him.

Saturday

Saturday was a busy day, we spent the morning getting the Twins ready to leave for their race in Bellevue, and saying goodbye to my mom. After everyone was gone, Marc, Lydia and I got ready to head over to Bellevue(Hailey couldn’t come because of a babysitting job). On our way over we stopped and did a little hike to a waterfall, it was a nice break from driving, and a fun little hike.

Then we finished our drive to Bellevue where we enjoyed watching the races. For this meet they did a race with the top 2 runners from every team and another race with runners #3 and 4 from each team. Katie ran first in the 3 and 4 race, she got 5th place, Nicole ran in the 1 and 2 race, she did well, but is really having a hard time breathing and is feeling extra tired, so we will probably be doing some more blood work to see how everything is looking.

We hurried and drove home(after a quick stop at Trader Joe’s, so these girls could buy some yummy pumpkin spice goodies) and Marc and I hurried off to stake conference. It was a busy fun day

The temple

Friday night Hailey was able to go through the temple for the first time, it was a very nice night. My mom drove over and joined us. We went out and had dinner first and then went to the temple, it is very special to be in there with your kids. Afterwards we stopped and got ice cream before heading home. We loved that my mom joined us for this special night.

Lydia’s race

Lydia had her first race on Wednesday, Marc, Hailey, and I were able to watch her. She did so good, she ran 1 1/2 miles in 10:41 minutes, and was the second 7th grader from her team to finish. She is enjoying running, a lot of her friends are on the team and she really loves running with them.

Another race

Saturday we had another race, this one was in steilicom, so a three hour drive. The drive went well, and because it was close to where my parents live they were able to meet us at the race. The girls did well, it was Katie’s first race after not running for the past few weeks because of some hip and knee pain, she thought it was hard and wasn’t very happy with her time, but now that she is feeling better I’m sure each race will get better. Nicole came in first on her team, but also feels like she should be able to get faster. It was fun to watch and we are excited to see how the season goes. We went and got dinner with grandma and grandpa after, it was fun to visit with them.

First XC race

The first XC race was this weekend. It is a race they have done before, it is a 5 person relay, each team member runs a mile and a half, the course include some jumping over hay bales and a water crossing. Katie sat this one out, she has has some hip and knee pain, Nicole raced and her team won. They also had a community race and Marc and Lydia ran in it.

Labor Day weekend

We had a nice long weekend. Friday, after everyone got home from football games and babysitting we roasted marshmallows and made s’mores, it was nice sitting around the fire talking together

Saturday morning the twins and Marc went on a long 20 mile bike ride.

When they got home we ran errands and cleaned up the house. Sunday was good, church and more family time.Monday we decided to go and pick apples, we had fun making apple cider, and eating doughnuts too.

We grilled hamburgers for an early dinner, and then the twins had a practice at a park, so we all went, they ran and the rest of us had some fun playing pickle ball. We got home and had some really yummy homemade chocolate peanut butter ice cream to end out our last weekend of summer.

Kyle spent the weekend in Provo with friends. He had quite the adventure getting there, his tire came off the rim and he had to get his car towed to a shop, they couldn’t fix it until the next day, luckily a friend from Yakima was willing to pick him up and then take him back the next day to get the truck. Once he made it to Provo he had a lot of fun, it sounds like he got in some football, some camping, bridge jumping

, and fishing.
