temple trip

Kyle and Hailey were able to go to the temple this weekend, this was Haileys first time, so she was pretty excited.  Both Hailey and Kyle are excellent at family history work, they took about 60 names with them to the temple for baptisms.  I think they both had a great time and were already busy today finding more names for next time.

Football

Football season ended this week.  Kyle had a good season, he didn't play as much as he would have liked, but when he did play he did really well. They lost their last game this week, but it was so close, it was a fun game to watch, his team really improved over the season.  Now we have moved on to Basketball, he will find out which team he makes later on this week.

haileys choir concert

Hailey had her first choir concert this week.  For this concert they had all of the choirs in the school district each sing 2 songs, I think there were 7 choirs, and then they had all the choirs sing the last song all together.  Hailey's choir did a great job, I cant remember what the songs were called but one was about peace and the other one was an African song, the song that all the choirs sang together sounded really good, it was pretty impressive to have that many kids all singing together.

Lydias field trip

last week Lydia took a field trip to the pumpkin patch and I was able to go with her.  I was assigned to watch Lydia and 2 of her friends.  It was lots of fun, we took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch so all the kids could pick a pumpkin, we played in the corn maze, the kids ran through it over and over again, we watched them race some pigs, and then played on all the tractors and toys for awhile. It was fun watching lydia interact with all of her friends and her teacher.

Haileys peirced ears

 before

first they mark the ear so they know where to put the earrings

Leah captured her face just as they did it.

A couple of years ago Hailey asked me if she could get her ears pierced, I told her that when she turned 12 she could.  So the Friday after her birthday Leah and I took her to the mall and she got her ears pierced.  She did great and hasn't had any problems with them, she has to wait 6 weeks until she can take them out and put in a new pair, she is counting down the days.

pumpkin patch with the Carlucios

Last weekend the Carlucios came for a visit.  They got here Thursday night and stayed until Sunday evening.  We had a great weekend.  The kids didn't have school Friday so we spent the day at the pumpkin patch.  We went to one that we had went to a few years ago, it was a little bit of a drive, but I think we all decided it was worth it.  It was a beautiful day and it was just very nice to be outside enjoying the country in the fall time.  We started by visiting the cows, they were a hit, then some of the bigger kids and dads tried their luck at the apple sling shot, you had to shot the apple through the hole, if you made it you got a free dozen doughnuts, we didn't make it but it was fun to try.  They had an area for little kids, they had a big box filled with corn, like a sand box but with corn, they probably would have stayed and played in that all day.  We wanted to go see the other part of the farm so we went on a hay ride everyone had fun with that as well, especially Anthony.  They had some more animals pigs and goats, they loved the big pigs.  We tried the doughnuts, they were amazing, pumpkin doughnuts that they make fresh while you are waiting.  Then we just let the kids play for awhile they had a couple of really fun playgrounds, they loved the tractor you could climb all over and the tires to jump on.  We also tried taking some family pictures.  Next we made apple cider, it was fun to make and we loved drinking it all weekend.  And last but not least the kids all picked pumpkins. We were really glad we went, it was lots of fun.

The rest of the weekend was lots of fun as well.  We mostly just played around the house, the little girls played dress ups and just got along great, Anthony sat in the toy jeep and pretended to drive, Marc also pulled out his scooter and everyone got rides on that, we gave Kyle some dance lessons and drove him to his second dance, the dads and the older kids and Anthony played basketball at the church for a couple of hours and Leah and I took Hailey to get her ears pierced.  It was a great weekend we are so glad that they came.

12

Hailey turned 12 this past week.  We started her special day off with pumpkin pancakes.  She opened her gifts, her sisters made her all kinds of fun crafts and pictures.  She had a great day at school, lots of people wishing her a happy birthday and making her feel special and loved.  We had yummy tacos for dinner and pumpkin cake and ice cream for desert.  Her birthday was on Wednesday so she got to go to Young Womens, she had a good time and is really excited about getting to know all the girls and spending every Wednesday night with them.  I think she had a fun birthday, we sure do love her and are proud of her and the choices she is making and the person she is becoming.

Lydia

Lydia loves school, she comes home singing all kinds of cute songs, telling me about her new friends and the fun games she plays in PE.  Wednesday they had and Apple Party in her class, the kids sang us some of their songs and we ate caramel and apples.  It was so fun to see her in her class and interacting with her teacher and other kids.  Her teacher seems really great and there seems to be some really nice kids.

Last weekend she went to a birthday party for a friend from church, it was a tea party and they made the cutest hats.

And the first artwork she has brought home from school.
