update

There isnt much new going on here.  The kids are busy with school, it seems like some of the classes have gotten a little harder now that they are back in school, but they really like being there.  This is the last week of Volleyball and Cross Country, we have sure enjoyed watching all of it.  The twins have done really well, they both got to compete in state, this year the top runners from each school ran the 3 mile on the track and then submitted their times.  They have one more race this week, it should be a good one, it is at a course that they have run several times, so they hope to be able to beat their past times.  They both plan on running on the track team, and it starts next week. The varsity volleyball team ended up having some players get COVID, so they havent been able to play so the JV team has been playing the varsity games, they won the first game, but they lost the game Thursday.  Hailey has enjoyed it and plans on playing again next year.   Hailey will start tennis next week. Lydia started playing on a soccer team with some friends, so far they have just had practices but she really loves it.

The weather has started to get a little nicer, we love being outside se we are happy about that.  Yesterday we worked out in our garden are all day, we are taking out the old garden boxes and putting in new ones, it was a lot of work removing the old ones, everyone is pretty sore today.

Kyle is doing well.  He is still in Oakley and really enjoying it there.  He got to spend the last few weeks with a really good friend as his companion,  Elder Rosario left this past week for Chile and Kyle has a new companion, we havent talked to him so I dont know anything about him.  Kyle has had lots of adventures in Oakley, one that he was really excited about was he got to wrestle cows and then brand and castrate them.  He is turning a little country he now wears  a pair of cowboy boots.  They do a lot of activities with the youth and a lot of service projects. It sounds like he has 4 more baptisms coming up.

We made a trip to Childrens hospital last week and found out that Nicole does need to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy, so we have a couple more trips over there planned in the next couple of weeks.  She feels great, the iron is really helping her feel good.

Sports

Sports have started up again here, it is fun, but I forgot how busy it is when you have so much going on in the evenings.  Hailey decided to play volleyball, she wasnt going to, but at the last minute changed her mind.  Her and another girl are the JV setters and then one of them gets to suit up for each varsity game and be the back up setter, the coach decides based on how they do during the JV game.  They had their first game last night, I was able to go and watch the JV game, she did really well, her serve was really great she had the first 11 points because they couldnt return her serve.  She also suited up for varsity, she didnt get to play at all, but still got to be part of the team. We were able to watch that game from home, it was fun to watch.

She is number 7 on the far court, she just finished serving.

The twins are doing cross country.  They really love running.  Last week they had a time trial with their team to place them for their first race.  Nicole was 2nd place on her high school team and Katie was third.  Today they had their first official race.  Nicole came in 2nd place she ran a 5K in 20:10 and Katie came in 4th place at 20:57.

Nicole has been taking Iron and is back up to normal levels, but will keep taking it until they find out what is wrong, they did find blood in her stools, so we will be seeing a specialist in a couple of weeks.  She feels great now that her iron is back to normal, and is happy to be able to run again.
