Summer Vacation week 6

Another busy fun summer week.  The weather turned a lot hotter this week, the summer so far has been pretty mild. So we finally set up the little pool in the backyard, Katie, Nicole and Lydia had fun playing in it for a couple of days.

Tuesday evening we had a huge thunder storm, it poured rain and the girls had fun running around in it, we called them in when we could see that the lightning was really close.

Thursday the girls and I were invited to a friends house to swim for a couple of hours, they had a great time.  They spent most of the time trying to learn how to dive, they improved quite a bit in the time we were there.

Thursday night Leah and Joe and the their kids got here for a little visit.  They spent the day here Friday.  The kids put on several little plays for us, they were very entertaining, our favorite was one where some princess, were kidnapped by some pirates,and then the prince had to rescue them.

we were able to spend the hot afternoon at our friends pool, we had a great time.   the only pictures I took were of everyone trying to jump over this pool noodle. We loved that Marc was able to get off work early and play at the pool with us, and that Kyle and his friends Tyler and Nate were able to hang out with us

We had to get up early Saturday morning to drive to the airport to pick up Hailey, so we said goodbye to Leah and Joes family early that morning.  We are so glad they came, we all had a great time.

We drove to the airport and got there just as they were getting there, we picked up hailey and grandpa, they were hungry so we stopped and got something to eat and were able to hear all about their trip.  It sounds like they had a great time, lots of volleyball, and fun with family, and ice cream and games with new friends. we dropped grandpa off at his truck and then we started home, but stopped on the way and did a little hike with the girls.

Kyle and Hailey went to the stake dance Saturday night, Kyle  and his friend tyler were the DJs, they had a good time.  We had a quick visit from Grandpa Murdock Sunday afternoon, it was fun to see him. 

Summer Vacation week 5

Stephanies family spent the first part of the week at our house.  They got here Monday morning and stayed until Thursday morning.  We had a great time with them.  Most of the time we just hung around the house where we played games, jumped on the trampoline, rode scooters and bikes, played 4 square, and watched movies. We also spent an evening playing tennis, and a morning at a park.  We loved having them, and are sad that we wont see them for another year. They left Thursday morning and Hailey went with them, she will be spending the week with them in Virginia.

Friday evening Marc and I took Katie, Nicole and Lydia on a bike ride, and then took the girls to a new park in Selah, we have been wanting to check out, it was lots of fun.  Saturday we cleaned house, and ran errands,and had the sister missionaries over for dinner,  that night we took Kyle and the girls to a baseball field and practiced hitting , they all had fun so we decided to go to the batting cages and try those. It was a fun weekend.

Summer Vacation Week 4

Monday we spent the day doing laundry and packing for the next adventures.  First thing Tuesday morning Kyle and Marc left on a 4 day hiking trip, later that morning Hailey left on an overnight backpacking trip and then she was heading straight to girls camp, first thing Wednesday morning katie and Nicole left for girls camp. Lydia and I spent the rest of the week together, we talked and played games, ran errands, went to the library, babysat, ate ice cream, played in the sprinkler, watched movies, went for walks, walked to the yogurt shack for a treat, it was a nice quiet couple of days.

it sounds like they had a great time, she said the hike was pretty hard, it was mostly uphill, but I think she had a good time.  She enjoyed girls camp, she learned a lot and did lots of crazy fun things, and had a great time with her friends.

The twins had a great time at girls camp, they loved being there with all of their friends.

The boys had fun on their hike.  Kyles pack weighed over 60 pounds, he carried 2 small watermelons, he said it was worth the extra weight. The first day they hiked to Pete Lake, then they hiked to another lake the next day, they had to run through swarms of mosquito's, but had fun at the lake.  The next day they left their packs and did a day hike, they hiked straight uphill to another lake, they jumped off the cliffs into the lake, they said it was freezing cold, then they decided to keep hiking up the mountain and went up to another lake, then they ran all the way down, they were pretty tired when they got down.  The next day they hiked out, they jumped off rocks and played in the river at the end.  it sounds like they had a great time, lots of adventure and fun.
