20

Kyle turned 20 this past week.  I cant believe he is that old.  We havent heard from him so I am not sure what he did on his birthday, but I sure hope it was a good one.  We sure love and miss our kyle, but are proud of him for being willing to serve a mission.  I know that he is learning and growing so much, and I am sure that this next year will be full of new adventures and new opportunities, we cant wait to see what his 20's bring.

A lot of people posted birthday wishes on his facebook, I took some of the pictures that I havent seen before.

Crazy Saturday

I woke up in the middle of the night at realized that they power had turned off, I had a hard time getting back to sleep because I was afraid I wouldnt wake up in time.  So we had to get everyone ready and fed without power.  It was also raining, so we started by watching Lydia play a soccer game, she played well and it was fun to watch, but we were wet and cold.

Next we went to the cross country meet.  The girls ran really well.  There were 3 different courses, Katie got 6th on her course, and got her first sub 20 time.  Nicole ran a different course and got 5th place, and got her first sub 19 minute time.  Their team got second place.

After that we went to the big volleyball tournament to watch Hailey.  Her team did well, they lost one game that we watched and won one, she played some, and played really well, so that was fun to watch.

It was a very long day, but fun to be able to watch and support all of the girls.

Volleyball and Cross Country

Hailey is busy with volleyball right now, they had 3 games this last week.  She is the second string setter on the varsity team, so she doesnt get to play a whole lot, but she is enjoying being on the team.  Thursday night we got to watch her and she got to play quite a bit, she did really well, we were so glad we were there for that game.  So far her team is undefeated, they should have a really good season.

We got to watch the twins in their first cross country race this past Saturday.  It was a different race, it was a relay, there were 5 kids on a team and each person ran 1.5 miles, a section of the race was running through a pond/lake.  They both did great.  each team had 3 boys and 2 girls.  Katies team took second place and Nicoles team took 4th, for individual times Nicole got 4th place and Katie got 6th.  It was a lot of fun to watch and they really enjoyed running it.

First Day of School

Tuesday was the first day of school.  Our school district does half days the first week, in the afternoons the teachers meet with parents to go over information for the school year. The girls were only in school until 11:00.  Hailey is beginning her Senior year, she is busy filling in college applications right now, her first day of school was pretty boring they met with their homeroom teacher and hers was out of town so they just went with another class, but I think she had fun seeing friends.  The twins are starting their Sophmore year, they also just met with their homeroom teacher, so it wasnt very exciting, but fun to see people that they havent seen in awhile.  Lydia is starting her 6th grade year, she is at the middle school again, she got to meet all of her teachers, she is most excited about math and STEM class.  She rode the bus and it took forever to get the kids on the right busses so she ended up being on the bus for 1 1/2 hours, we were worried and glad that she made it home safe.
