We carved our pumpkins this morning. Everyone had a good time. It is nice now that they can pretty much do it on their own, it used to be a lot of work trying to help 4 kids carve pumpkins, but this morning it was easy and fun. They were all really creative. Kyle did Harry potter, and the girls came up with all kinds of fun ideas for faces.

Halloween at school
Hailey dressed up as a Hula girl for school this year. She had fun, she said she was the only one dressed as that and that whenever she walked by a teacher they would Hula dance. Her class had a Halloween extravaganza all afternoon, they did crafts and ate yummy food. Kyles school didn't let the kids dress up, but they still did some fun activities. One of the activities was making a pumpkin picture, the picture had to include a jack o lantern that was in an unusual setting. Kyle did a jack o lantern basketball and he had basketball players playing ball with it. He ended up winning the competition. He was really excited about that.
Halloween party
The church Halloween party is Saturday night, but Marc is working and then Halloween is on a Sunday so we wont be going trick or treating either, so we decided to have our own Halloween party Friday night. Marc and I decorated while the kids were at school, they were pretty excited when they got home. After dinner we all got our costumes on, and went down to the party room.
I turned on Halloween music and everyone had fun dancing.
Our mad scientist made some crazy Halloween punch.
We had a cake walk. The kids really got into that, they had a lot of fun.
We fished for prizes, that was a lot of fun to.
We played Halloween Bingo.
Decorated pumpkin shaped sugar cookies.
After we were all done with our party games the kids went trick or treating to a couple of houses, our neighbors and ours. They thought that was a lot of fun. We had a really good time and the kids don't seem sad at all about missing the other stuff.

Lydia 6 months
We had Lydias 6 month doctor appointment today. I really like my doctor, but we always have to wait so long. Today was especially bad, the girls did great though. Unfortunately I cant remember what Lydia weighed or how long she was, by that point I was just ready to be done, I do remember that at the end they said that she was in the 98th percentile for height and the 90th percentile for weight. They gave Lydia a flu shot and said that since Katie and Nicole were there we could all get our flu shots. So I got a shot and the girls got the nasal mist, but they were not happy about it, I had to hold them while they screamed, when it was done they realized that it really didn't hurt, and then they got their sticker and sucker and were as happy as could be. Lydia is doing great, she eats just about everything now, she sits up by herself and scoots around wherever she wants to go, she also figured out how to get into a sitting position by herself. She smiles and giggles, and gets really mad when we walk by her and don't pick her up. She is a happy, fun baby.

Primary Program
Today in church we had our Primary Program. It was really nice. Nicole and Katie and their class were supposed to sing I am a Child of God. They did really well. Hailey gave a talk about the Book of Mormon and she did a nice job, and Kyle gave a talk about the Holy Ghost and how it helps him, he wrote the talk himself and did a great job. It was fun to watch, they are sure growing up.
Our quick trip to Shelton
My Mom spent the last couple of weeks in the hospital. They did all kinds of procedures and surgeries and concluded that she has Colon cancer. We have been wanting to find a good time to go see her, she got home on Wednesday so we decided to make a quick trip over the mountains this weekend and visit a little. We left after work and school on Friday and drove to Olympia where we had a hotel to stay in. Our trip ended up taking a little longer then usual, due to us taking the long scenic route through Seattle. So when we got there we didn't swim like we had planned instead we got on our PJs and watched TV for awhile. The kids eventually fell asleep and did pretty good for awhile until Kyle decided to wake up and make all kinds of noises, I'm pretty sure that he was trying to wake up everyone else. For about an hour and a half I tried to get him to be quiet, he did finally go back to sleep, but he had to miss out on swimming the next day. We got up in the morning and had breakfast and swam for awhile, the pool and was nice and all the swimmers had a good time.
Hailey swam to, but I have no idea what happened to her pictures.

After swimming we went to my parents house, and spent about 5 hours visiting. My Mom looks great, it was good to see her. Leah and Naomi were there also, the kids had fun seeing them to. Marc took all the kids out and they did the swing and zip line, and then they came in and did some activities with Grandma. It was really a nice visit, I'm really glad that we went.
Naomi kept wanting to hug Nicole, it was pretty cute.
This is how the kids looked the first half of the drive home.

pumpkin patch
Leah and her family came to visit this weekend. We decided to spend Saturday afternoon at the pumpkin patch. We had a nice time, the weather was perfect and there were some fun things for the kids to do. They had a straw maze, and this fun slide. There was a pond with some ducks to feed and lots and lots of pumpkins.
Nicole on the slide
Katie on the slide. Leah and I even tried the slide but realized it is for people with smaller hips. This machine was by the duck pond, you put an old corn cob in and turn the handle and it cut the corn off the cob, and then we tried to feed the corn to the ducks. The kids loved using the machine.
It was a really fun day. We really enjoyed having Leahs family here they are lots of, the kids love playing with Naomi, and it was fun having my sister her to talk with, we cant wait until next time.

curls
The girls have been wanting me to curl their hair, but a curling iron doesn't really work, so I bought some curlers the other day and we gave then a try after their bath Saturday night.
They loved the curls, I have a feeling that I will be putting curlers in hair every Saturday night. They sure looked cute.

Lydia
My little Lydia is growing up, she is 5 1/2 months now, and is learning all kinds of new tricks. Here are some pictures showing some of her new skills.
She also sits up really well. I usually still put a pillow behind her just in case, but she is doing really well, and she likes to be up rather than laying on the floor.
